My answer couldn't have been clearer, or more honest.

Absolutely correct.

Barbaric, to say the least.

It must be say-it-like-it-is-Saturday. Who would have guessed that Greg has such an irrational fear of Islam?

See, that's where you and the rest of them always get it wrong.

I don't like Islam, however, I don't have an irrational hatred or fear of Muslims.

One can disagree with something, without fearing it.

That's what all the Islamophobes say Greg. What makes you any different?

I don't have an irrational hatred or fear of Muslims.

Sore End, Yadda, Sprint, et al do.

They freely admit that they hate Muslims.

I don't hate Muslims.

It is the irrational bit that I refer to. Why is your stance rational and theirs irrational? Because you disagree with them? You have the 'correct' amount of disdain for Islam and anyone who thinks differently obviously isn't thinking straight? Or is it just that you have no rational counterargument and resort to irrational slurs like Islamophobe instead?

I don't have a fear or hatred of Muslims, rational or irrational.

That's how I'm different to the Islamophobes.

I must admit, its a fair question greg - when you trip over yourself trying play up your "Islamic ideology sux" credentials, it doesn't leave you a lot of room for maneuver in defending muslims. If a muslim is defined as a person who adheres to a barbaric and dangerous religion (which you do) You are basically only left with the old "muslims are ok in spite of their beliefs." Which is not terribly convincing.

Incorrect.

I simply do not have a fear or hatred of Muslims.

I'm glad to hear it. But wouldn't it be rational to fear muslims based on your interpretation of Islam? Your understanding of Islamic ideology - from what I've heard from you - seems to be just as critical and vitriolic as the Islamophobes. If this interpretation of yours is indeed the same as the Islamophobes (and I'm happy to be corrected) - that muslims are supposed to believe in slaughtering infidels and spreading Islam by the sword etc - then I put it to you that its they who are being rational in fearing muslims. Moreover, it is you who is irrational assuming that muslims will simply disobey their barbaric laws - despite continuing to call themselves muslim.

But I'm more than happy to be corrected on your understanding of Islamic ideology.

not besides his oft-repeated descriptions of Islam as "ridiculous", "silly" and "barbaric" - and probably some other similar adjectives. Thats why I'm asking for clarification. But he certainly hasn't hinted at any possibiity that muslim's good behaviour could be doctrinal - his only argument seems to be the old "muslims good in spite of their religion" cliche. And on that basis, I suggest that its you and the other Islamophobes who are the rational ones, not him.

Your suggestion is irrational, though.

Greg, Islamophobes are people who get accused by the likes of you of having irrational fear and hatred of Muslims. They can deny it, but their criticism of Islam proves it. You still have not demonstrated a difference between you and the Islamophobes. You have merely made the accusation.

Back to the OP, I just saw part of an episode of the Bolt Report, obviously a repeat. It went over the semantic contortions ABC TV went through to avoid mentioning Islam when reporting the Kenya attack. It added the interesting point that many Australian journalists have had credible threats made against them by Muslims, and this may have been a motivator.

Incorrect.

Criticism of Islam is not Islamophobia.

The people I accuse of being Islamophobes, freely admit that they have a fear and hatred of Muslims.
