More US assets in Australia
May 15th, 2015 at 10:10am

Too bad the're parking the old equipment in Australia and not some of their state of the art hardware, like the B2 or F22.

All the lefties will be suffering from bunch up panties as soon as they land here.  Grin

A TOP US military official has outlined America’s plans to bulk up its presence in Australia and other Asia-Pacific nations as China attempts to “assert de facto control over disputed territories”.
B-1 bombers, surveillance and other aircraft will be sent to Australia, David Shear, the assistant secretary of defence for Asian and Pacific affairs, told a US Senate foreign relations committee hearing in Washington DC.
Long-endurance, high-altitude remotely piloted Global Hawk aircraft and F-35 fighter jets will be in Japan, four combat ships in Singapore by 2020, a Virginia-class submarine in Guam, and “significant numbers of marines” in Australia, Hawaii and Guam.
“We will be placing additional air force assets in Australia as well, including B-1 bombers and surveillance aircraft,” Shear told the committee on Wednesday.
The hearing was titled Safeguarding American Interests In the East and South China Seas and Shear was quizzed about America’s military deployments in the region.
He said the US had noted “a pattern of behaviour that raises concerns that China is trying to assert de facto control over disputed territories, and strengthen its military presence in the South China Sea”.

Yeah I heard, bummer, a squadron or two of Lancers parked in Darwin would be pretty cool.

Depends if you want a PLAAF ICBM inbound or not.

I find it remarkable that this is what, the second or third time a US Official has "mispoke" about the stationing of US defence assets in Australia.  Appears to me to be getting to be a habit...   Roll Eyes

This is good.

And there could be F-22's. And B1's. And B2's. They just aren't telling you. Because there is no point having top capability hardware and technology that is mobile and then telling potential enemies where it is.

It's also like a permanent Royal Commission in to Defence if this is here.

You know you see this stuff from the fence line on most RAAF bases don't you?

You can't operate any aircraft in this country without everyone knowing about it. And before you break out the roll of foil, no there aren't any secret USAF bases operating secret aircraft in this country.

More US assets in Australia

The Aussie government and people should just petition the people of the USA, for Australia to become the 51 st state of the USA.

No ?           Wink           Grin

And i for one would really anticipate with some joy, the prospect of embracing my 2nd amendment rights !!!!!

IMO, it is very, very wrong, that atm, in Australia, only government servants may possess Glock pistols.

And history and experience have shown us, that there is a fair quota of RAPISTS, PAEDOPHILES and WANNA-BE DRUG BARONS, among police ranks, that have actually been discovered and prosecuted!

And these are some of the people that our national and state governments are seriously issuing Glock pistols to ??????? !!!!!!

Should i be permitted to own a firearm ???

Smiley

Or is that a 'loaded' question ?

You can't see from the fence line. And if there were secret aircraft, they would not be at the main base.

And if there are unacknowledged aircraft, or secret bases, you wouldn't know, and if you did, you wouldn't be permitted to confirm or deny.
