pansi I know your a Qld and all so I am leaving this one for you...

do you think we should bring this up at our next meeting...

I do believe one or two people are letting the code down...and we should nip it in the bud so to speak...we could of course secretly tape conversations... and or just plain not speak to them..

but I am too up front for that as you well know.

it is a fact it mostly happens at our Qld branch.. but still..

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-05-25/public-servants-banned-from-wearing-ugg-bo...

(a link that works gladys) lol!!!

We'll have a vote at the next Qld meeting, but usually, what happens in Qld, stays in Qld, we're a bit lax up here now that we have a lady premier.

Of course we must continue to allow the over 90's to wear their onesie and uggies on cold days, but goodness, aren't they a pest when you're busting to go....all those darn buttons to undo, I swear I'll get a zipper one soon.

I would find it hysterical if I went to the motor registry office and got served by a onesie wearer. It must have started from having too many dress free days, wear jeans for cancer etc, they won't stop it now, there'll be walk outs, I tell you.

Ha.....he's not going without proving exactly how unworthy he is.  No conditions Carmody......if you go, you go, and you get only as much as the Law allows.

Link.

Quote:
Justice Carmody said he believed those who were resisting change campaigned to force him out.

"
I am willing to resign on just terms
, not for them, not because of them, but to break the impasse," Justice Carmody said in a statement.

"These recent revelations shine light on serious cultural and structural problems within the judiciary.

"These problems had their origins and were festering long before I was appointed to bring in needed reforms.

"Those resistant to change and modernisation have made it their primary goal to force me out, seemingly at all costs."

Quote:
However, QUT law professor Mark Lauchs said Chief Justice Carmody's departure could set a dangerous precedent.

"One of the problems is it creates a precedent that the judiciary can, of its own volition, coerce not just the Chief Justice but any judge to resign and that's not very good - that's a bad precedent to set in society," he said.

Professor Lauchs said if the Chief Justice resigned, there was no guarantee any of his demands would be met.

"There's no set of rules in relation to it - the Act doesn't say a judge will resign on the circumstances that they can then use it as leverage to change policy -
that's just something he can do by playing politics, so he's definitely playing politics
," he said.

Australian Council of Civil Liberties president Terry O'Gorman said Justice Carmody was making the state look like "Hicksville again".

"The rest of Australia are looking at Queensland and saying 'what on earth is going on?' Are they still in the 1970s and 1980s?" he said.

"To tie his departure to in effect force the Government to introduce a policy change that the Government has said it is not interested in - judges can't do that -
again shows the inherent unsuitability of the man to hold judicial office.

"I have never seen, in 40 years of practising a judge retiring early and saying 'I will retire early only if the government of the day brings in a policy change that I want'."

QLD... corrupt one day, corrupt the next. Nothing changes except the people acting corrupt.

QLD needs an upper house and a truly independent judiciary and police.  Perhaps the feds can sack them all and install some good ones.  While they are at it, they can sack the govt too.  No one but the newspapers would notice anyhow.

This bloke just keeps on proving exactly why he is simply not up for the job.

Link.

Now, he wants to head of other Judges as part of the terms of his resignation, and worse......who would ever agree to meet and talk with the prick.......he has no idea about confidentiality!

Quote:
He would do it, he said in a statement, on the proviso there was a review to address what he termed "cultural and structural problems within the judiciary"  that he claimed had been festering long before he ascended to the job.

On Tuesday, News Corp Australia reported that Justice Carmody
expected to call for other judges to follow his lead
during a speech at a Hamilton Island conference on Friday which would outline his vision for court reform.

Quoting an unnamed source, the company reported it was Justice Carmody's belief that those who had worked to undermine his leadership would continue to do so for the new chief justice.

Quote:
"I am willing to resign on just terms, not for them, not because of them, but to break the impasse we now find ourselves at.

"In mid-April, I met with the Attorney-General and informed her of my offer."

No, it is professional.  The guy was handed the Top Judicial Job  from nowhere (just like Jo handed corrupt copper Terry Lewis the Top Copper Job from nowhere) and no-one inside legal circles thought he could handle it or would be accepted to do it.  Everything he has done since being appointed establishes how inadequate he is, and that suggests ~ how entirely political his appointment by Newmann and the failed Boy Wonder LNP Attorney General Bleijie was.

Come orn Carmody.  Jump!

Link.

Quote:
An audio recording of Queensland's Chief Justice Tim Carmody reportedly in an
expletive-ridden tirade
has been kept secret by the State Government.

The ABC applied for the smartphone recording and other documents showing the bitter relationship between Queensland's most senior judges through the Right to Information process, but was refused.

The decision-maker said
release would breach the Chief Justice's privacy
and
risk undermining public confidence in the judiciary.

Gee, who'd a thunk that?

When Carmody goes (booted or on his sword) you just watch the flood gates open, including on Newmann and Bleijie who gave him the job.

'Only in Queensland' and just about always when under LNP Government.

And finally he has.

Link.

He has been sent way down to QCAT......the mickey mouse or kangaroo court where legal representation is not normally allowed.

Bloody idiot should never have put this State through that process.

It'd be like me accepting at my age, selection as wicket-keeper for the upcoming Tests against England.  That's how dumb he was.  Sure, just like me at cricket, he is not without some talent, but he was always way out of depth when he accepted appointment to this State's Top Judicial position....just as I would be, accepting at my age, selection as the Aussie w/k on the current English Tour.  That's probably the best analogy I can come up with.

Just plain dumb......but, let's see attention now centre on the Selectors.......Newmann and the former Boy NonWonder Qld. Attorney General Jarrod bloody Bleijie.

The Libs.......Premier Newmann and Attorney General Jarrod Bleijie.

It would have been one of the basic reasons they were shown the door earlier this year.
