ISIS started in Syria. Many blame our lack of intervention there.

No it started in Iraq. The founder was a former Saddam era intelligence officer - wasn't even religious. There was a fascinating profile on him done by Der Spiegel earlier this year - I highly reccomend it. Its previous incarnation was the so called 'Al Qaeda in Iraq'.

So how much of what's happening around the world right now involves Islam?

Very little.  Very, very little.

However, how much of what's happening around the world right now involves Islam and is shown on TV?  Quite a bit.

Don't be fooled into thinking that what you see on the news is all that's happening in the world.

The world is a mess in many areas. The middle east and Africa is a mess.

You have much more chance of being killed by a car, than by a terrorist.

The next time you cross the street to avoid walking past a Muslim, you might get knocked down by a Toyota.

While there are a lot of apologist for, and defenders of Islam, their entire philosophy is to hide from the truth. The Muslim problem is getting worse.

Everybody is missing the point that Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries with Sunni leadership financed radicalism in their own countries and the Middle East including Al Quaeda and ISIS.

USA financed, armed and trained Al Quaeda in committing  acts of terrorism against Russia when it ruled Afghanistan. In fact that era of America stupidity led to the extreme radicalization of Pakistan as the terrorists used Pakistan as a conduit into Afghanistan and a lot of Pakistanis made a lot of US Dollars from supporting Al Quaeda.

If USA told Saudi Arabia and these Sunni-led countries to stop exporting radicalism and stop supporting Al Quaeda and ISIS they would obey.

The solution is in the hands of USA which created the forces it now calls monsters.

Irregardless of its roots ISIS is an evil entity an organisation that butchers communities on a large scale.

Its charter is to wipe out 'the infidels and anyone else who has nothing but an ISIS point of view. They are feared by fellow Muslims and represent an incredible threat to the world.

They  must be fought with everything the world has or the world will become some post apocalyptic wasteland like something out of Mad Max.

ISIS is THE THREAT to a world that will live in chaos if it succeeds.

It's very possible without their religious beliefs they wouldn't be killers.

You're making excuses for them.

Why?

Why are you making excuses for Islam?

I'm not.

Islam is a pretty stupid religion, if you ask me.

I don't know why anyone would want to be involved with it.

I notice, though, that Islam has never killed a single person.

Similarly, I don't believe that the Koran has ever murdered anyone.

Terrorists, on the other hand, kill people just about every day, and you (along with many others on here) continue to make excuses for them

Muhammed killed lots of people and offered lots of excuses for people to kill. What is Islam, other than the words and deeds of Muhammed?

That's what governments thrive on, red - chaos.

Chaos and fear.

If ISIS is eliminated (and I certainly hope it is), governments around the world will need to find something else to frighten you with.

A frightened population is an easy-to-control population.  Just remember that.

Greg do you believe that all those Aussie Muslims raping and pillaging their way across the middle east would otherwise be raping and pillaging their way across western Sydney if they were not Muslims?

Would you prefer Russia had been left to have it's way with the Afghans? Or perhaps you would prefer the USA went to war with Russia instead?

I'm certainly no fan of Muhammed (not that I believe he ever really existed) or his ridiculous religion.

However, I don't use them to excuse the actions of evil murdering bastards.
