i used to quite like Waleed, but he has become a bit full of his own self importance.
i find the project is just a channel 10 version of an ABC current affairs show , except the presenters have all got collagen, botox and prettier clothing.

Waleed really needs to rally the muslim community to reach out to "real australia". He is in a position to do a lot of good.
He could organise a free kebab day and arabic cooking festival and form some good links in the community.
There could be belly dancing etc etc.
Camel rides for the kids.
Instead of always trying to make "real australia" feel bad about itself (which will only harden attitudes against islam) he could be building really good community bonds.

the greeks, italians, chinese, vietnamese and taiwanese communities all have massive food festivals that i always took the kids too. this is good.

I am yet to see one from islam. maybe they dont have many nice dishes

child abuse occurs because isolated people in dysfunctional communities lose their moral compass.
if we can build stronger community bonds,
if waleed and other muslims can reach out and form good community ties, then all children will be safer.

why are these children in detention?
If the australian people developed a fondness for muslims as they have for most groups then the australian people would demand that this practice end.

how can the muslim community make the australian people develop such fondness.

well certainly , providing a good community spirit and some nice cuisine would be a good start.

look at it from an outcomes point of view.

waleed will not turn around attitudes by becoming yet another angry muslim.
the emotionally intelligent thing to do is to reach out.

do they teach emotional intelligence in the middle east?

you would never see asian news footage of asians getting all over emotional and firing AK 47's in the air.
yet this is the prevailing footage of the middle east.

if you have an image problem as being angry hot heads, you need to work on that.
