How many people go to the Opera or Ballet....Talk about catering to the elite....Whilst grass root artists get nothing established high end entertainment get swamped with taxpayers money....Brandis can shove his Opera and Ballet IMO!!!

So should art simply be a vehicle for rebellion for lefties? Like agitprop?

Before lefties took over art, art was something that attempted to capture the beautiful, in the Platonic sense, or represent an aspect of reality.

It seems to annoy you that tax payers' money is being used for artistic purposes that you dislike. Imagine how non-leftists have felt for a few decades. Funnily, there's probably many lefties in the opera and ballet.

Then photography happened.

Please google Postmodernism for beginners, a PDF should come up, take a read, it explains very simply why this is a very backwards way of thinking and why modern art is the way it is. (it's also a very, very fun and entertaining book)
