The Idiot premier of NSW
Jul 19th, 2015 at 7:51pm

The Idiot premier of NSW:  has told the NRL to take the law into their own hands.

Quote:
NSW Premier Mike Baird said the NRL needed to take a stronger stance against Kenny-Dowall and said he would be talking to the organisation.

"The sooner we tell everyone in NSW and across the country that violence against women is not acceptable — there's no blurring of the lines here," he said.

"It is outrageous. Yes, we have to ensure that this has in fact taken place and everyone is entitled to due process, but I think we need to see some stronger messages coming from the NRL."

What is it with conservatives and having the hanging before the trial ?

I was hoping this one would surface here.  Baird, given you want this bloke treated adversely merely at the allegation stage, let's hear you calling for Bishop to stand aside.  After all....same deal.  Allegations, yet in the case of Bishop the proof is pretty self evident and she occupies a position in Parliament requiring integrity and virtue way beyond that expected of Caesar's Wife.

Violence agaisnt women?  seeking an AVO without any charge of criminal conduct that will then need to be proven to the proper standard of Law is proof positive that no act of violence has taken place - only that someone wants the government with its guns to take over her handling of her personal situation.

Is there any link to show that the man has actually been violent to her?  Or is this just another one of those trumped-up nonsenses because she can't get her way and feels he should have no rights to even discuss any issues between them?

The pursuit of an AVO does NOT indicate that violence has taken place or even is likely to do so - it is - pure and simple in isolation - just a preventative measure and any other steps included in it are violence in themselves.

There was an article today in the Sunday (Courier) Mail which established they had separated some time ago.

And the point being?  If they have some ongoing issues, can they not discuss them like adults instead of employing the schoolyard bullies?

When a man's right to a fair discussion of differences is arbitrarily and summarily overborne by a self-appointed Right of the State to intrude and do violence to him - thus substituting violence for reason and fair play and installing nothing more than a Reign of Terror rather than The Reign of Reason - then a state of war exists between people and State.

You will note that this principle adheres to many different aspects of life in the West at this time...... I speak only for the West... the rest can make their own rules and keep them to themselves....

Before we go discussing the highly emotive 'violence against women' (again) - can anyone provide an source to substantiate that any violence has taken place?

Simply requesting a fair discussion of differences is not violence - attacking the asker is violence pure and simple.

I was merely making the clarification that they had separated some time ago......makes you wonder why the need for this crap.  I agree with your long expressed general position on this matter and I abhor the ease with which these AVOs are produced.  Always have, and have had many a turbulent bitch session in Court with Magistrates who seem to have zero regard for the reality that mere untested allegation ought never be sufficient to restrict the free unfettered conduct of a human being.

Quite correct - this particular set of 'laws' was the beginning of the direct assault on Rights and liberties here.... the dawn of guilt by accusation and in reality nothing more than a rubber stamp and follow-on from the time-honoured automatic guilt by accusation that has actually held sway in 'courts' here for centuries.

Just a prime example of the State arrogating unto itself the right to loose the dogs of war against any citizen without justification and on the flimsiest excuse - as said - an act of civil war, something we've been in for years here, and which many are yet to learn.

While ever they take one at a time silently and with vigorous propaganda - and until it actually happens to them or theirs - most people simply don't know.

hmm I don't think Baird or the NRL should be making assumptions before the evidence is put before the courts.

They should have learned from Brett Stewart.

Jumping the gun a bit there, Mike. He may very well be guilty, but he hasn't been found guilty yet.

I guess AVOs are dished out for nothing these days...its strange really if you report a cop for say.. being rude or disrespectful he can be stood down there and then pending...and in some cases without pay.......

yet our FOOTY STARS are treated with silk gloves in some cases....

havent you notice the NRL is pretty soft on these guys... in fact most clubs go to any length to keep it from getting out.......so much is covered up...if they are tossed by a club they are picked up by another.. no worries...their lives go on.. regardless.....

sorry for you guys but DV is a huge problem with our so called STARS.. this hasnt just started as a one off.. like the Brett Stewart case...

So you think that anyone accused of anything should just lose their job.

This is not about the charges which should be dealt with appropriately by the courts and police.

This is about the NRL at the Premiers insistence choosing to pre-empt that process and producing penalties outside the legal system. Have a think about what could happen if the NRL penalise him for a criminal offence and then the courts find him innocent ?

Is the premier going to offer to pay the compensation bill ?

I know personally of a teacher accused of inappropriately intimate dealings with a number of their students who was stood down from their teaching job and immediately ordered to go home from school when the allegations were brought to the attention of the school principal. That teacher wasn't even allowed to clean out their desk - the deputy principal did that under the supervision of the Police schools liaison officer and took the personal effects to the teachers' house. They're suspended on full pay pending the outcome of the court case. In some cases, it just isn't possible to allow someone to continue their job in the face of serious accusations whether or not they're innocent. The rights of others have to take precedence.

Actually, I agree with armchair on this one (shocked!).  It really depending on the circumstances.  For example, say a murderer caught red handed at the scene by the police, would most likely to be charged, and the remanded in custody until further hearing for the protection of the public, and for any flight risk.  At that stage, he was charged only, and have no convictions yet recorded - for the said crime.   A member of the public - the bail justice will then hear the bail plea, and then decide to grant or not depending on the police recommendation and evidence at hand.

In terms of AVO, I think (from school) there is a temporary one and there is a more permanent that need to go through the courts for.   May be he have only a temporary one.

But that said, politicians (usually unrelated third party) should not get involved until at least the court case had been resolved.  Because they have the media and the audience that can directly effect the lives of those involved in the case (both victim and perpetrator), and can give rise to defamation liabilities.
