Another good reason for using a credit card (assuming you can pay off the balance) is for those monthly bills - power, phone etc -  where you can just have a regular debit. That way you avoid forgetting paying bills that sometimes have a penalty of some kind for paying late or even have a reward for paying on time.
The alternative is to have the same arrangement against your transaction account, but there can often be fees attached to this service.
