What a load of horse $hit.

Like hell you'd let your daughters fight on the freaking front line.

Bloody hypocritical lying nongs!

I wouldnt let my sons either. But then I'd respect them enough to make their own decisions.

I too wouldn't let my sons fight on the front lines.

And no way would I respect their decision to become war fodder. No bloody way!

Bloody hell, I nearly died trying to give birth to my babies. I still have nightmares about those horrid and vile high risk complicated caesarean sections which left me in hospital for close to a month after delivery.

The freaking pain which followed, the inability to move and/or pick up a crying child.

Trying to breastfeed under those circumstances was hell.

Sleeping with 1 eye open all the time in a rocking chair close to a cot to make sure each child was ok...was alive.

SIDS, Meningococcal virus, allergic reactions to meds...all sorts of bloody fears keep you awake at night.

And all this so they can become war fodder????

No thanks.....I'm not offering my children to the god of war. I don't care how old they are....they're not going.

End of story.

You don't stay in hospital for nearly a month even after plancental percreta involving a total hysterectomy, let alone a cesarean.

See Lisa? This is why people question your stories. Right there.

See how little you know about emergency caesarean sections which go horribly wrong?

Now bugger off!

My first child was born to an emergency ceasar. They nigcked my bowel. I developed endometriosis, paralytic illeus, cellulitis and was very sick indeed. I was on a naso-gastric tube and very high levels of morphine.

I stayed 10 days as a private patient.

Apparently, there comes a time in a persons life when their parents no longer get to make decisions for them.

I understand that, but kids also need to make informed decisions about their future. That's where parents come into the scene.

And please don't tell me that kids are adults at age 18.

They're not. They're still gullible and naive teenagers who need a hell of a lot of guidance.

Also in giving support, direction etc...otherwise they'll fall prey to hypocritical and ignorant online fools like Mothra who would never let her kids go....but sees no issue in encouraging the sons and daughters of others to go to the front line....on what pathetic grounds?

They equally qualify.

My kids are off limits to this sort of horse $hit.

And yep...I watch their every move online. Why? Because of bloody and insane online idiots who would just love to take advantage of their gullible minds.

Bloody hell....

The difference is now - officially - combat role and Direct Combat Role.

I don't care what everyone else thinks or does.

I care about myself and my children.

That is my duty as a mother...to take care of myself and my children until the day I die.

Oh and my husband also....but he's a big child anyway.

And my kids know about their birth situations because they've seen their APGAR scores on their birth books.

3/10 ----> lots of questions followed. K?

Oh and I've never used their births against them.

I have however given them (at their request) all their details.

No - she's pretty good, but I know her brother is faster and stronger and so forth - but I also don't want him to do it either.

She was thinking of joining the Army, but even then she did not want a combat role.  I'd say her mother said to her something like :-  "Do you want to end up like your father with a twisted head?"

Women want to fight. Let them do it. Two women are about to graduate from military training in USA.

There should be nothing wrong with accepting women who volunteer. It might reduce the homosexuality rates in the military.

http://edition.cnn.com/2015/08/18/politics/women-graduate-army-ranger-course/

Quote:
(CNN)Two women are about to make history by becoming the first female soldiers to graduate from the Army's exhausting Ranger School.

They're among the 96 students who will graduate from the intensive training program Friday in Fort Benning, Georgia.

This was the first year the Army opened the course to women on a trial basis.

"This course has proven that every Soldier, regardless of gender, can achieve his or her full potential," Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh said in a statement.

But it's not clear what awaits the female graduates.

Unlike the male graduates, the two women can't apply to join the 75th Ranger Regiment, an elite special operations force.

The Pentagon isn't expected to make final decisions about exactly what combat roles women will be allowed to fulfill until later this year.

Have a look at Wikipedia the Russian women were very capable soldiers,I don't see what the issue is regarding women who would like to serve in the frontline, if they can meet the requirements I say why not.

Russia had suffered over 20 million casualties, making their stocks of able fighting men thin.  They also recruited children and old folks too, to prevent them being overrun.  Desperate times call for desperate measures - but we are not desperate.

Nothing desperate about recruiting a person who qualifies.

Yes but they don't qualify.

I'll bet there's some that do.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2880029/Girl-soldiers-fight-frontline-20...

Did you read that link?  Its basically one big argument AGAINST women on the front line.

Sure is ... but it proves my point. Women DO qualify.

That's from the mouth of critics.

actually it said "would" qualify.  Hypothetical.

Quote:
it estimates only 34 would meet standard to get ground combat jobs

It's not what's happening in practice:

Quote:
All eight women vying to become the first female Army Rangers failed to complete the requirements to go on to the next phase of the grueling course, the Army said.

The women were admitted to the two-month class as part of a broader effort by the Pentagon to lift the ban on female soldiers serving in "ground combat" jobs, such as the infantry.

The Army said Friday that five of the women will leave the course, but three will be given another chance to start the class from the beginning.

Initially, 19 women had volunteered to enter the course when it was opened to women last month. Of those, 11 failed to complete the first four-day phase of the course.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/05/30/ranger-women/28179303/

Funny I should happen to post this today, because the story has taken another turn:

Quote:
Two female soldiers will graduate from the Army’s legendary Ranger School this week

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2015/08/17/army-ranger-school-women-gra...

It took them 3 attempts but by god they were going to pass if it took an executive order from the president himself.

Now, the question has to be asked is whether 2 bodies are worth the massive amount of changes and concessions that will have to be made to cater for them (if when they get assigned to a unit).

I'm sure to those who don't have to put up with it, that any price is worth it.

Maybe they should just perform one test. If they can urinate standing up they are in.

I've argued this elsewhere - nobody can persuade me that a ship or aircraft under attack is not a direct combat position - the thing is that the Army do not actively commit women to direct combat roles.

I've described the difference between a combat unit role and a direct combat role as the difference between serving in a combat unit and trading lead at five paces.

In my WW IV/Fem War series, women are in direct combat roles and hold many of the top spots.... I'm no misogynist - just an anti-feminist  - huge difference.

Fem War II/WW IV is about a feminist lead breakaway Western States of the United States taking on the United States, and how that develops into a world war in which transport etc is very much limited by a lack of petroleum - a very real issue.

One of my female characters is actually the President of the United States at the time of war outbreak, and she resigns to sign up as a grunt to avenge her brother killed in the first surprise attacks...

Very anti-feminist and coupled with projections of what a future war might be like... with the primary movers of masses of troops and equipment being the railroads once more - running on non-petroleum fuels.
