christianity , islam, buddhism, hinduism

they all have the "truth" about 'reality ' buried very very deep under layers of BS.

its a shame the traditional religions have failed man so badly.

spiritual enlightenment is the highest goal a man can attain.

i consider that jesus, mohammed and the buddha all attained spiritual enlightenment and a very small number oif their followers did as well.

But the "truth" is a truth which can only be experienced , and even then this experience requires 1000's of hours of hard work.

It is a truth that cannot be communicated, and thats where religions fail.

people beleive they know the truth but they dont.
so they sink into ritual and ignorance

but science and aetheism are similarly "just a belief system" and dont lead to enlightenment.

you cannot find enlightenment in "thought"
.

as such the smug aetheists are as misguided as the religious.
the smug scientists are as dogmatic as the bishops .

they are all on the wrong path

err.....

religions are founded on "prophets' who did the hard work to attain enlightenment.
so , yes, these prophets were trying to spread the "truth'
But it cant be spread by thought, only by experience.
And most people "think' they can know it in thought and wont do the hard work.

so most people 99.999 % of religious people or spiritual people are probably like this chap who had the affair.....they are trapped in the "egoic' paradym

"Who are you, anyway? Are you a god?"

"No," the prince is said to have replied.

"Are you a saint?" asked another.

"No," the prince replied.

"Are you a prophet?"

"No, not a prophet."

"Well, then," all the pilgrims cried at once, "who are you, then?"

And very calmly, the story goes, the Buddha replied: "I am awake."

This is true.
But how many followers of traditional religions are awake,

And remember that the buddha spent years stripping away the layers of the ego to attain this state.

Now scientists are just as stuck in the egoic paradym.
And so too are christians who see 'desire' for the flesh, stuck in this egoic paradym.

But the founders of most of the religions were enlightened in all probability.
this is what draws people to them

The analogy the buddha used was that he had 'tasted the mango"

Now if you are a follower of the buddha and listen to his wise words, study the mango, read every scientific and secular book written on mangoes, interview thousands of people about mangoes BUT NEVER ACTUALLY PUT ONE IN YOU MOUTH.

can you KNOW the mango in THOUGHT.

no , you cant, you only have stories and thoughts and spiritual enlightenment requires first hand experience which requires 1000's of hours of work.

so . i say again.

most followers of religion or science or whatever are never going to reach enlightenment because they are stuck in a thought loop. and they need the experience.

was actually making more the point that many Buddhists are also atheists.

Atheism just means you don't believe that deities exist.  It is a remarkably simple position, which effects pretty much nothing outside of the simple question of "do you believe in deities?"

I am glad to see Ashley Madison destroyed and I feel a little sympathy for those being publicly named. Not much, but still some.
