William Tyrrell???

A million people watched last night’s harrowing 60 Minutes episode about the missing boy, William Tyrrell.

Top of their mind?

Why couldn’t the people who were interviewed be identified?

For legal reasons.

That’s all anyone is allowed to say.

They can’t be identified for legal reasons.

Hundreds of journalists, hundreds of police, plenty of people in the community know more than that, but it’s against the law for any of them – for any of us - to explain it to you.

It’s frustrating.

It frankly feels wrong.

I didnt see it I am a coward I live their pain I am afraid..and feel so helpless.. I can understand not identifying people frog..

they would be harassed to hell and back.... and no matter what is said.. some will always look at them sideways...its the way we have become 100% judgemental....and when a sweet little child is involved no telling what would happen...

I had a policeman knock on my door yesterday asking if I had noticed a young women that has gone missing in Canberra....last seen in my suburb...in all my years thats never happened.. we live in a quiet place... dont we?...

now a father has been charged with the murder of his 6 year old daughter.... Cry

I thought it was rather obvious. The police currently have zero idea what happened or who committed the crime, assuming one was even committed. Everyone is a suspect and if there is ever to be a unbiased jury there needs to be confidentiality over the potential defendant(s).

I think that is a forlorm hope in the internet age anyhow, but it is no doubt the underlying reasons.

The deaths of children affect us all and the murder or abuse of them is inconceivable - and yet it happens.

Its very sad. Even worse is the fact that the majority of child abuse or murder cases is at the hands of immediate family. The critics may be cruel and heartless, but their comments are based on firm data.

I could not agree less.... what gives a certain element in our midst the right to use a service like the internet or mail for that matter to condemn people they have no idea about????...

they are bullying cowards.... as bad as it is in this country and getting worse.....the child killers are mainly boy friends who have no links to the dead children...if a child is dead as cruel as it is.. at least there is some tracks to be followed in this case a missing child..its total agony in a way none of us can comprehend...I lost my daughter in David Jones.. when she was about 4 .. for a whole two minutes.. I was history I can tell you....a wreck...

I cant begin to imagine what this family is coping with..but to have absolute scum out there doing this is beyond me..and they need to be dealt with..

You misunderstand me, cods. I am not supporting what people are saying. I am simply stating that the majority of child murders and abuses are done by immediate family. And your assertion about boyfriends etc is unfortunately not true. Blood family are the majority of abusers.
