Australian Politics Forum - Which National Anthem did you sing at school?

Sep 10^th, 2015 at 8:31am That "God Save The Queen" topic has me wondering. Ok....I'll go first. I started school in the mid to late 70's. The ONLY Anthem we stood up to sing in assembly was "Advance Australia Fair". We also sang "Waltzing Matilda", "Kookaburra Lives In The Old Gum Tree"...ya know those sorts of songs. What about you guys?

When we become a Republic, it will be changed to Khe Sanh (or Working Class Man).

It's true - God Save The King was the national when Herbie started school.

I started school in the late '60s - Lizzie had been our Queen for at least a decade by then.

you always go on about someone being old as if its a disease..

you do know its a privilege to get old dont you?

with it usually comes wisdom.and history..

and if you are one of the chosen ones.. I cant see how you can avoid it... Roll Eyes

perhaps a little more respect would go far... as I am sure you will want respect if you reach a good OLD age.
