We need our drama, Bobby, to make this event bring all the good folks from miles around to come to town in a festive mood where they'll spend their money at the local shops and at the saloons where the girls are and the card games are ... if ya get ma drift (wink wink).

'Tourist dollars', Bobby ... It don't really matter none if the condemned man is guilty or not - we need Tourist Dollars to tide this little town over during the winter months.

The board members of the town's Chamber of Commerce are delighted with seeing so many people flock from far and wide to enjoy the entertainments on offer on this festive occasion that has been declared a Public Holiday by the local mayor.

(Yes, it's true that in the neighbouring town they're holding their OWN hanging today with somebody who has confessed to these crimes, and that the one we have in our jail has proven to be innocent after all, but then HOW could we, in all good conscience, disappoint all these GOOD Christian folk who have come to town from far and wide with high expectations of a jolly time, and with a little spending money to leave here before they all depart for home - tired but happy?)
