I've worked out who maria is......... in this specific area 'she' seems to have a clear understanding as opposed to the areas of the economy and so forth. Now if the user name will just come to me......

One basic tenet of intelligence is that often you don't need to go out and dig it up - given time (not always the case) it will come to you....

Thanks. I would normally assume that to be somewhat obvious. I am a fan of being informed. I prefer to think and analyse before I lash out. Apparently Cods prefers headlines to substance.

More use of home detention or weekend jail etc can reduce the burden on our jails as well as not crush people who are convicted. Jail can destroy your life. Your career, your reputation and your family can all be toast. Often the crime is relatively trivial but still gets a custodial sentence. Making people unemployable after jail is hardly something to rehabilitate them.

This isn't correct. Past crimes may be considered in sentencing.

The jury are supposed to determine guilt base don the evidence of the case at hand. It is only in rare circumstances such as unusual MO that past crimes have any bearing on the evidence of the of a current criminal accusation.

Past crimes are not relevant in most cases because it's only evidence that they have in the past undertaken criminal behaviour, it in no way provides evidence they have committed this crime.
