There is something very wrong with our JUSTICE sys

this person is given 2 years for child molestation...unbelievable..

but wait theres more.... Angry

a mother who stood by whilst her defacto beat her child to such a stage he thought he had killed him...and she did nothing..

the child is now disabled...

is sentenced to 2 years.....

a MOTHER............ words escape me...

2 years is an insult in anyone language...we all know it will be lucky if they serve even 1 year...

the fabric of this country isnt being destroyed by ICE... more like weak pathetic courts. Angry

Now you are getting onside with my call for a Royal Commission Into The Judiciary and Into Jurisprudence..... this is one side of the question - the other is the amazing prevalence of false conviction and dismal abrogation of legal rights as a matter of course in the 'courts'.

These 'courts' are not worthy of the name as they currently operate, and are nothing more than legitimised theft of rights, money, and reputations on whim.

They would do any Third World dictatorship proud.....

It appalls every civilised person that a mother would not defend her child with her life...

I hope the guilty - if and when he is found guilty since he has pleaded not guilty - bastard gets ten years at least.

What can possibly justify an adult bashing a child?

For those who do not know - I come from just such a background of parental bashing of children - and MY children have never felt so much as a serious slap on the bum - let alone a bashing.

I cannot accept that a grown man could have reason to bash a child - a toddler... Fer Shaitan's Sake....

Sol.Gen. Michael Sexton SC has called for juries to be given details of past convictions ...can anyone understand why a murderers history is kept from the jury until the day after the trial ends????...

if a jury can take into account a person claiming they were abused as a child... then why not their record ???????????????????????????????????..

I am sorry it doesnt make sense to me...

2 years in anyones book is an INSULT... these people who damage kids.. should never be allowed to have more children...sterilising should be mandatory they have given up that right of passage..

at least 10 years nothing will undo what they have done... but 2 years has got to be totally meaningless...

Cods - the law says that a jury can only determine guilt on the matter(s) before the court - not on reputation etc.

You will have fought savagely for the right of a woman in a rape case to not be pilloried for past sexual conduct, which has nothing to do with the case before the court - that of a specific incident.

No - past history is only taken into account in sentencing, because the law requires conviction on properly proven fact relating directly to the incident under scrutiny - not to anything else.

We already have a Star Chamber here that even leads to people being charged - the hidden police CNI system that allows any interpretation against an individual at any time, and has done so.

We also have endemic false accusation and false conviction based on bias, presumption, assumption, discrimination, innuendo, perjury, and inference rather than on fully proven fact in the lowest courts in the land - those run by the corrupt magistrates.

Am I wrong in saying that the Judge can take into account past criminal history when sentencing? That is after the perp has been found guilty.
