At least they weren't rapists and could speak publicly albeit both clowns that will never run this country again.

Exactly. They could speak very well publicly and were on top of each and every brief. Hopefully, we'll have a similar leader in Turnbull.

we definitely don't have it in Shorten.

I would remove very well from that sentence. At least they tried albeit being backstabbing clownery most the time. Gillard had issues stringing two words together and rudd was too busy choking on his own ego which was hilarious.

Shorten just hides. The Libs have something on him and he knows it.

I wonder if that's right. If it is, what we're facing is a massive flood of Chinese investment, ownership and cheap labour. This doesn't ring true to me. We already have 457 visas that do a similar thing.

I agree that foreign companies should be made to scout the local labour market first, before flying people in.

Sure ministers don't have carte blanche. But in foreign relations, you can't put every deal before a politicized body, such as a parliament.

The China free trade deal is different, of course. It's a big one. But the ALP are being a little too tricky for their own good here.

This deal should pass.

and it will. Labor has always said that it supports the deal. It just wants to make sure the Chinese can't bring in cheap foreign labor willy nilly. I'm not sure why the libs are fighting this so hard. It can only make them look bad if they fight for Chinese labour.

I personally don't see labor protecting Aussie jobs as a bad thing, Someone has to stand up for the Aussies.

We can do better than Labor, Labors credibility was lost when their last circus was in charge.

labor actually did a pretty good ob under tough times if you ignore the bickering between rudd and gillard.... Abbotts crying about being hamstrung by the senate and he had a majority govt. Imagine if he had to deal with a hung parliament? he'd have spent 2 years hiding in his office twiddling his thumbs crying it's everyone else's fault.

We can do better than Labor

Problem is that you not only have not done better but that you have not done anywhere near as well.

We can do better than Shorten.

Going back to either Rudd or Gillard would be a huge improvement.

Gillard yes Rudd probably not.

Shorten is an unknown, we do know that every time he has stepped forward in a speech situation like the budget reply or other occasions he carved tony & Joe up.

I suspect that there could well be more substance there than a number of posters here think.

Grin Grin Grin You are clearly a rusted on. She warbled and nearly lied every time she opened her mouth and her silly misogynist comment was ludicrous and rendered her a joke to the international community from that day forth. She never ever sounded like a woman. Get a grip.

Rudd was a kid in a candy store and an utter fool.

Bubble head Shorten is fed his speeches if in fact he actually has the courage to go public with them.

Tony was great at stringing 2 words together, he used a classic trick - always repeat the same word twice and it normally had one syllable or less. He did however have a significant issue with 3 words at the same time.

According to a rusted on, I don't think so. Maybe in your little world.

Gillard was a consummate communicator. Endearing, personable, and direct. She had all the answers and she didn't shy away from stating them. She had an excellent sense of humour.

There is no comparison between a politician like Gillard and one Tony Abbott. Abbott would not even go on Q&A. He rarely faced the public without at least 5 flags and minders fencing the questions. And when he answered them, he always put his foot in it.

Apparently you out do me in the rusted on stakes. You can't even give gillard her dues in regards to her public speaking. She was a brilliant public speaker. You can bitch about her voice, you can cry about her message, but don't pretend she couldn't speak.

Gillard was a class clown act, a total idiot nothing more, only idiots or bogans would consider that twat intelligent. As far as Q&A were concerned why would anyone other than a rusted on labor supporter or greeny want to go on that ridiculous show. Its a bunch of lefties in a room with recording gear and a bunch of their mates pretending to be an audience. Gosh what a waste of time that would be. What a waste of tax payers money is that ABC.

Apparently not. You responded like a true rusted on. Gillard is getting her dues. I am astonished you think she was a brilliant public speaker she was atrocious and most cringed whenever she opened her mouth. Clearly you have not scene a good speaker. She certainly spoke alright she spoke utter nonsensical rubbish. Shouting out misogynist over and over again like a silly little child. She made an utter fool of herself locally and intentionally. Now she can own her own nonsense and get her dues as you say.
