Well known?

Not likely.

If you asked 20 men on the street, I doubt one would know where they are or if there was any at all., unless they have an association with them through business.

The only women that know are those that have had a reason to visit someone in one, been to one for DV issues or for some type of social work. Women don't usually give the addresses to away willy nilly either.[

Maybe the ladies I collect from Refuges feel confident with me, but, say for example, and this is a true story.

I arrive in the Cab at an address I've been to before.  Lady I have picked up before comes out with one kid more than the usual.  As is only banter, I comment about the extra one, and the reply was, "Oh she's the daughter of another mother in the shelter here."

No problems, out it came as routinely as you like.

I'm not really interested in the Refuge topic of how well known they are.  I got ongoingly involved in this only because Lisa Jones made absurdly false and dangerously misleading comments about what Cabbies know, and whether male Cabbies can drop off or pick up at Refugees.  No more from me on that issue unless Jones makes some more garbage posts.

facts... lol

who keeps taking it off topic.. you... its all about you and the fantasy world you live in.....you know sweet fanny adams about womens refuges...in fact they are not really called that anymore...its womens crisis accommodation....

you seem more hell bent on telling everyone what power you have especially over female cab drivers..and what you claim you know..as fact

than ever giving a bit of thought to this crisis... you live in Qld for goodness sakes.. 3 women murdered in the same week and not one word about that and how it may be solved...

maybe you should try reading some of your own posts and or threads...where you carry on about people who go off topic....and about your version of abuse...

if 3 women are murdered in the same week because of domestic violence...

then..... HOUSTON we have a problem.. we need to talk about this problem.. not taxi drivers.

Most domestic violence shelters are not well known for very obvious reasons.. of course known to Police and Social Workers- and a handful of pp who live in the same street.

They are not asio safe houses people. They are not secret even if they may not be well advertised.

latest stats- 31 women killed in 15 weeks- we sure do have a problem and it highlights some pretty ugly truths about men in this country- not all men, but too freaking many.

The whereabouts of safe houses in kept confidential, you can't for the most part keep it a complete secret obvioulsy -  I worked in a unit that was not strictly for women seekingg shelter but it often turned out they came to us for safety with the kids- the husband found out and would often turn up where I worked, they were drunk or drugged out on ice etc.  They would turn up all hours of the night, very sweetly asking if **** was in- I very pointedly told them no one was allowed in no matter who they were and it soon turned very ugly- within minutes the Police would turn up and they would be thrown in the back and taken away. It used to get quite scary as some of these men were not of sound mind.  These women are in danger and confidentiality is everything.

Ya see, cods, this is where you come apart.  Apart from basic stuff, you know nothing about me, including that I was very personally responsible for starting, setting up, and seeing into ongoing existence
several
Womens' Refuges.

I have not made a single comment about female 'cab drivers.'  What's up, cods?

Indeed there is a problem, and there is nothing whatsoever new about it, and if you really want to help deal with the problem, can I suggest you cease posting stuff which attracts a need to self defend?

Let's not get hysterical about trivial issues.

We have far more Muslim terrorists killing people in our country.

Don't you know that?    Roll Eyes

Nope.  I've posted facts, and if you can't deal with facts, that's not my problem.  There is a real World out here, not that one down a Rabbit Hole.

When politicians offer you something for nothing, or something that sounds too good to be true, it's always worth taking a careful second look.
