I have seen nothing yet to give me confidence Morrison will be any different to Hockey....When Morrison actually does something I might agree with you Bogey....Until then their was a reason this Government dumped Abbott and Hockey....Nothing has changed IMO!!!

Huh Huh Huh

This is not the time of Rudd.  Good financial management requires time and analysis, not two hours on a plane or 15minutes in a taxi to announce sweeping uncosted, un-planned policy.

Good financial management requires time and analysis

For some 2 years is just not enough ?

I wonder who all the Liberal supporters voted for and why the poll result is meaningless ?

I love how you declare any result you don't like as 'meaningless'. It discredits you more than you realise. A brighter person would simply accept that Howard is massively popular and move on. 20 years ago the most popular was Bob Hawke. Get over the fact that Howard topped him.

John Howard was judged by 35 per cent of you as the best PM

from YOUR link

so 65% didn't rate him as the best?

It seems pretty clear cut to me, he definitely wasn't the best PM.

there is little doubt that John Howard was our last great prime minister.
Tragic that he was not the steady hand at the wheel during the GFC.

If he had stayed in power we would have

an ETS
no manus island or assylum seeker debacle
probably no deficit as John would have been able to sell a rise in the GST to the public.

we would be infinitely better off.

Instead the mayhem and havoc of those without the skills to lead.  and no messiah on the horizon (though Scott may grow into the role)

Wow, your education was clearly highly deficient if you don't understand the difference in the meanings of 'best' and 'majority'.  No wonder you oppose private education when you look at how bad yours was.

Wow, that's the best you've got?  Grin Grin Grin
Given that the whole concept of 'best PM' is rather subjective, then yes, the majority makes the determination.

So you choose ignorance instead of intelligence. Not unsurprising given your deficient education, but still disappointing (for you).

I can only wonder how you decide which is the most popular football team out of 18 or who is the richest man in the world since in neither case does 'majority' answer the question.

Howard/Costello a steady hand at the wheel? $1Trn net debt, at least one bank fallen over, unemployment over 10% etc. I worked that out once, applying what the various numpties have done before or said at the time. Maybe they could fan a speculative boom by feeding it huge amounts of tax money but could they manage a shock like the GFC? Doubt it, just look at Mr Trifecta himself, Treasurer to Fraser in the last years of the first oil shock. Clearly, it would have been a disaster to have Howard & Costello at the helm in 2008! The rest of the fantasy is just as wrong.

the most popular football team is not subjective, it's simple mathematics, count the fans
the richest man is not subjective, again, simple mathematics, count the money

the best PM is subjective and based on ones OPINION ... the majority of people do not agree with your opinion on the best PM.

you didn't say he was the most popular PM, you didn't say he was the richest PM .... you said he was the best

now stop proving your stupidity with every single post. Try to get at least one right.

Most of those voting for Howard were probably voting for the happy days before the GFC. Yet Howard’s actions as PM are the cause of much of our Budgetary and economic woes now: the profligate spending built into the Budget, super tax exemption costing $40Bn this year, $50Bn next and the high indebtedness and consequent lack of confidence of the household sector. A little clown is Howard.

And the structural Budget deficit is just the same story. Even if Howard had left more than negligible debt, as you can see from the abbott/hokey borrowing spree and profligate spending we could have raised the money anyway.

Howard was one of our worst–ever PMs!

Then sux-to-be-you because Howard is the most popular EVER PM.

Interesting to look at the next rankings:

1. John Howard

2. Bob Hawke

3. Gough Whitlam

4. Kevin Rudd and Paul Keating (tied)

6. Julia Gillard

Just one Liberal there.

I said worst, not most popular. And a boom will be remembered fondly in comparison to what came afterwards.
