I'm going to be so laughing at you guys when the sh1t hits the fan.....and it will.

Just keep paying your weekly rent because that is what keeps us landlords happy.

Us landlords will be jumping off tall buildings next year  Cry

Oh well! nothing lasts forever, especially not housing bubbles.

Us landlords actually FULLY OWN our homes outright....and now, so do all our children.

How? Thanks to renters like you!

Lisa, can you clarify for me how you can own all your property outright, and still negatively gear?

Quote:
Yep.

Mean time, the rest of us are negatively gearing as many suitable properties as we can....whilst receiving healthy weekly rents, annual tax incentives and as an added bonus...we're watching our property investments appreciate in value.

In short, our kids are set for life

If property prices start falling the way that a couple of people on this forum are suggesting, maybe I should buy some more in a few months time.

For the clueless nong/online stalker

1. Read my posts again.

2. If need be, read them a few more times.

3. If you STILL don't get why you're clueless...ask one of your taxi cab mates to explain them to you.

Until then, bugger off.

I'm not interested in unintelligent time wasters like you.

Precisely!

And if you're cashed up, why not?

Perhaps then you can explain how, when you own all your properties, you can negatively gear them.  Or, of course, you can go off again on some irrelevant abusive tangent about me and/taxi drivers.   Your choice.

Perhaps it is their personal residences they own outright. At least that is what I intuited.

Actually, if you are cashed up in this market, I'd be looking at negatively gearing a renovator/rental property in a decent Sydney suburb.

Maybe, but I'm retired, and I don't really want to start borrowing money again at this stage of my life.

yeh knock yourselves out. Blow all of your money on it. The government will make sure you make a profit or will they this time ?? They have used up all of their nine lives keeping the bubble afloat and all they have left is cashed up asian buyers who only buy in selected areas.

If you've retired.....forget it.

Yes negatively geared investments means that these continually run at a loss because of maintenance and interest payments so how can this be if they are owned outright with "nice healthy weekly rents" Cheesy LOL

That is why I sought clarification....and would have come to the same conclusion as yourself except this:

......seems to put paid to that.

How about providing the simple clarification instead of the obfuscation.  You have told us previously you have ten 'lots' in Sydney.  I'm not making any of this up.  It is what you posted.   I'm fascinated as to how you managed it, and even to the extent that your kids (four) also own their homes outright.

You are clearly a success story extraordinaire, and I for one would be delighted to hear the clarification from you.

It's all done on credit, Aussie - you KNOW that.... all these serial house owner millionaires actually owe the banks more than they can repay if and when the whole deal collapses.

I've compared this to the 1929 Stock Market Crash - which came about from people 'leveraging' stocks and bonds to borrow to buy more stocks and bonds - and then one day suddenly the whole deal collapses and they are all left with debt and nothing else.

NO serial home owner does not work - they need to work to pay the shortfalls on their  mortgages - which tells you why the RBA is keeping interest rates low - if they do not, the only game in town will collapse and disaster will follow.
