Alleged child abuse - Wilson
Nov 3rd, 2015 at 6:03pm

Paul Wilson (a Kiwi) is a renowned Australian Criminologist who is now under Trial for abuse.  I hate this stuff, where allegations of events which are claimed to have occurred decades ago surface and tall poppies (notice ~ it is always tall poppies) are the target.

Link.

How do you defend yourself other than with a dumb and stupid looking denial?

These kinds of cases disturb me because defendants do NOT get the presumption of innocence. If that were so, barring a confession, this case is a slam-dunk NOT GUILTY. It is two people's word against one another - one a renowned scientist and the other a child. And there is no other evidence of any kind.

There is one bit of evidence that sounds deeply suspicious. He had a 'life-size naked poster of Wilson on the back of a door'. Please explain to me how ANYONE in the pre-computer 1970s was able to produce that? At the time it would require a 4 colour printing press. There were no colour inkjets or lasers of any kind nor any computers to create them. The claim is demonstrably bogus and cast's fatal aspersions on the girl's memory and therefore testimony.

And where has she been for the past 40 years? Society has been dealing with this issue for the last 25 years so where has she been?

Some people are not ready to talk openly about it until they reach middle age.

They bury it in the back of heir mind, then when the family has left the nest and they're not so busy with life matters, it starts to play on their mind.

They want it settled before they pass over.

So my ex-friend, the highly placed person in NSW's sister, who claims she was raped by a close relative who committed suicide, all taking place many years ago .... is not simply schizophrenic?

Her family tend to differ..... and they have my utmost sympathy.

Much as I tend to lean towards compassion for the truly abused - we simply cannot permit the rule of Law to be thrown out the window to suit the emotions of some, or to satisfy the baying of the wolves outside, who claim to be supporting the victim when they do not genuinely know who the real victim is.

And what did his wife think of the poster, and has anyone asked her (assuming she is still alive)

That's another good point. How many wives would put up with such a thing. Whatever actually happened, she is not telling the truth. She may think it is the truth but it rather obviously is not.

I understand that, but at the same time, 40 years tends to blur memories and create a few false ones as well. After all this time, the chance of her recollection being fully accurate is not high. The problem is certainly a difficult one, but our courts require actual proof and a mere claim from 40 years ago is not enough to convict - I hope.

Many people, Grasshopper, can believe a thing true or false, when only told so by another.  It is for you to determine what is real and what is not, but always remain aware that the truth of one is not necessarily the truth of another.....

Friends, it hurts the old Duke of Brisbane Town hisself, yer old friend Billy Jack, the BJ Supremo, to hear them purveyors of past memories staking a claim to the right to stake a stake in the heart of a good ol' god-fearin' boy there.  Them people what have them memory lapses for forty years.. well.. what can you say, friends?  Well - they wasn't there for forty years, and now they is - but I'd have to say they just isn't there aye tall!  Now if'n our old frien' Longy were here, god bless his little britches, he'd tell us simple folk that was dang nigh impossible.. an' mathematically, too!

This kinda thing jest makes ol' BJ sick, friends, to see them fine folk gettin' shafted by them leeching gold hunters.

Ah's jest jokin' friends - ah ain't no Billy Jack - he's a thousan' miles off, that boy.
