So as I said, more and more ice (glaciers thinning at an increasing rate) are losing ice to iceshelves around the coast. This ice will melt causing sea level increases when the shelves let go.

Only if there is a net ice mass loss. An ice mass gain will logically reduce sea level, all other thing being equal.
