Can you believe the nerve...

What do you reckon? Is it tracking down those young hooligans and making our streets safer? Or is it the nanny state gone too far again?

Police search for 'motorised picnic table' drivers seen travelling through Perth's Scarborough Beach area

Police search for 'motorised picnic table' drivers seen travelling through Perth's Scarborough Beach area

A group of men caught driving motorised picnic tables along the roads of the Scarborough Beach area have failed to amuse Western Australia Police.

Photos and video footage of the nine men, driving along Scarborough Beach Road towards the West Coast Highway intersection, have gone viral on social media with police putting a call out on Facebook requesting help to identify those involved.

"Police are concerned for the safety of those riding on the tables with no protective clothing, especially when on roads alongside motor vehicles," Western Australia Police said.

"There are overall safety concerns particularly if a traffic incident was to occur, resulting in the persons subjecting themselves to potential injury."

The police said those involved "could face a number of charges including driving an unlicensed vehicle, driving an unroadworthy vehicle and drink driving".

Well admittedly it is pretty unsafe. They werent wearing helmets and they were taking up whole lanes, unlike bicyclists.

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

We used to have go carts, these are just a bigger version.

And yes we did ride them on the roads.

It's quite sad, the rest of the world has this idealised view of Australians as being fun-loving and up for anything. In fact, if you come here, you realise that we're one of the most babied nanny-state sooks around.
