I seem to remember a story just AFTER the election when Abbott asked Muir to meet with him in Canberra. Muirs' reply was that if Abbott wanted to speak to him he would have to travel to Muir as Muir couldn't afford to take the time of work

Kinetic energy is Mass times Velocity Squared over 2 or MV^2/2

Since velocity is squared any reduction in velocity has a huge impact in reducing kinetic energy of the projectile.

My .243w shoots 58 gr projectiles at 3900 Feet per second, to make it subsonic I have to reduce projectile velocity to below 1280 Feet per second.

A semi auto centrefire will be a single shot gun with subsonic ammo not enough gas pressure to cycle another round.

In New Zealand they have strong regulations on who can own guns instead of what type they can have.
I think the NZ model is superior to our laws, they have had no mass shootings.

Our second worst mass shooting was done with a single shot bolt action .22, if you can trust someone with a single shot .22 then you can trust them with just about anything.

I think sound moderators should be allowed for farmers, many farmers always have dogs with them and not a single company sells hearing protection for dogs.

I think farmers should be allowed to have a pistol as well, it's not easy carrying a rifle on a motorbike/quad bike or horse, they should be allowed a pistol with similar restrictions to their Cat C semi auto rimfire can only be used on nominated property.
