Very wise words, Kyron!

Well yes, but can we do that and still blame Islam?

Honestly the best way to protect Australians from Terrorists is to integrate far better Arabs into the Australian fold and stand in solidarity and not fall for IS' game of fear that drives people to ostracize the Islamic community.

You can't actually protect people from Terrorists, all a Terrorist needs to do is make a homemade bomb from an online recipe and blow up a shopping mall, or buy an illegal firearm from bikies and shoot up a school. Not exactly hard. What needs to happen though is prevention and looking at the root cause of radicalization is the issue and generally it's angry, loner, young men who instead of engaging in self-criticism, instead blame everyone else for the fact they personally are unlikable or dickheads. This isn't unique among Islam, one only needs to go on Reddit or look at "Gamergaters" or PUA's to see the exact same thought process among young white men.

On action against IS. Sending is ground troops is a no no, I would even argue that mass bombing campaigns would further be counterproductive. Most join IS originally stemming from victimization from western foreign policy, instead of the west going in, the West should rely on and support the Kurds and "moderate rebels" to at least give the impression the region is sorting out it's own issues without Western imposition.

Serious?  Young men join ISIS for the thrill of the kill and more than a few for the opportunity to literally rape and pillage.  They are not victimised, especially not in this country. They are scumbags whose moral fibre is so poor that given an opportunity, they would kill and rape.  So yes, bombs away. The world is a better place without them. Maybe when these men of marginalised morals realise they are likely to be bombed and killed, they will reassess their lives and consider moving their moral line elsewhere. If not, they will end up in jail here. Either way, it is better than the navel-gazing and self-criticism of the west.

Exactly.

Religion or no religion, these scumbags would still be scumbags.

In a globalised world politicians seek peer approval from their fellow politicians, if the general consensus amongst those politicians is to let hordes of muslims into the country, some of which will kill our children, then thats what a consensus politician like Turnbull will do.
He has two crowds that he must play to, the voters here and the global community, a lot of which is comprised of the insane left.

I want a big powerful speech from Turnbull.

He can tell us what he's going to do.

Turnbull waffles on and on but says nothing, like Rudd did, he's not going to do anything at all to rock the boat before the next election, even if that means letting in muslim psycho killers to kill our children.

But I want a Churchill like -

we'll fight them on the beaches type speech.

You sound like a whiny, scared little girl!

Show some courage, weakling!

You are extraordinarily shallow as well as having no clue on history.

You want to be ENTERTAINED, MOTIVATED, ENCOURAGED... all via youtube.  But if you are ever asked to do anything - as Churchillian England was, you would run for cover when they stood up to be counted.

Dear beloved Marla,
I am a knight of round table sworn to the quest.

All I ask for is a King ( Prime Minister ) with balls to lead the way in the fight against terrorism.

You are forgiven for your derogatory comments.

Hi Dnarever,

Do you feel safe with Turnbull running the show?

Can't see how it is any different to Abbott or any Labor leader considering his restraints.

He is probably weaker than most but the real job of protecting us is only hampered by political grandstanding which is all that they do - any of them.

I would say that his less hard line attitude locally is more likely to help a bit by leading to less local Muslims being pushed towards more radical options.

I see the biggest local issue and most easily preventable is the push toward radicalisation of the Muslim youth and in this area Abbott was pushing as hard as he could.  Abbott was more part of the problem so Turnbull would represent an improvement in this critical area if he can get his rabid ministers under control which does not look too likely.

But France has vowed to wipe out ISIS.

What has Malcolm done?

Very funny - from the cheapskate who post malicious links on Ozpolitic
because he uses a free anti-virus that doesn't work.

The antivirus software on my computers at work is quite expensive (not that it really matters).

Nobody has made any complaints.

I've posted no malicious links.

If you think I have, report it to the mods.

You're still angry at yourself for wasting $300 on useless bloatware.

Chill out.

Norton is $85 per annum & it gives me 3 licenses.

I give away the other 2 licenses to my friends.

That's the same as $28.33 each.

You cheapskate - get a proper anti-virus program.

Don't ever post malicious links again -

how many posters here have had their computers wrecked because of you?

Apologise & self ban for 48 hours.
