Are you serious?

With twelve people on board that possibly cannot swim.

If you weren't a troll I'd be disgusted in you.

I voted other. I would not want Tony Abbott back under any circumstances. Abbott had all the finesse of a race-track bookmaker. Trust Turnbull? Well . . . more than I would the Greens or Labor who would simply open the doors. Turnbull is bringing in 12,000 Syrians at your expense, so I don't see much difference.

BTW, I voted “Bring back abbott” in the poll. Anything to encourage civil war within the Lib party.  Grin

If they got within 100 metres of Christmas Island, they were in Australian territory and able to claim asylum.  They cannot lawfully be towed back out.

Not quite.

In September 2001, the Migration Amendment (Excision from Migration Zone) Act 2001[2] and the Migration Amendment (Excision from Migration Zone) (Consequential Provisions) Act 2001[3] excised certain external territories from the migration zone for purposes relating to unauthorised arrivals. The effect of this change was to limit the ability of "offshore entry persons" to make valid visa applications. The territories excised included Ashmore Island, Cartier Islands, Christmas Island, and Cocos Islands.

What? Those people have broken the law. They need to be detained indefinitely.

I said they should have just sunk the boat, can you read or are you dumb and stupid too?

What’s the point of that? They’d just get a new one and come back.

You spineless cowards will be dealt with in the fullness of time, Matty.

They must be desperate.

Let them in and it will all start up again. And we all know what a mess that was. It's a hard world and hard decisions need to be made greggorry.

Ignore people fleeing persecution.

I'm alright, Jack.

You argue for gay marriage.

No, I don't.

I'm on record as saying I think it's "icky".

I simply don't oppose it.

The old boy probably confused you for Maria, Greggery.

It’s an easy mistake to make.

don't ignore them, throw them back.

We are better without them.

Don't use the word "we".

You are better than nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Don't ever use the word "we", and try to include me in your Islamophobic hate-fest.

When Sprint says we, he’s referring to immigrants.

He doesn’t mean anything by it.

Nope, just fanning the unrest in Lib ranks.

I am 80% confident Labor will win the next election. The economy will be the decider and Morriscum is failing and panicking. Also, three Labor States do not want the GST to be increased or broadened and DO want health and education on the agenda for COAG.

Libs are stuffed. Turnbull can’t sack Morriscum and can’t change policies.

Greens will be also rans.

There was later legislation as Secret War has pointed out.  Do you reckon such cuteness registers with the Aussie voter?  Christmas Island is run by the AG's Office in Canberra as an Australian Territory.  No-one is gonna buy smart arse artificial stuff.

Wonder if the Turnbull Mob have handed the cash over yet?

What's the going rate now ... US$30,000 per boat?

No-one?  Ask Rudd, he would have done a few focus groups on what people thought of country shoppers arriving by boat.

It is only a vocal minority that actually wants them washing up.  The majority are perfectly happy with Labors punitive measures that stopped the boats.

Note to Gregg who seems a bit confused, stopping the boats was an election promise directed at a domestic audience and refers to country shoppers washing up on Australian borders.  It doesn't refer to country shoppers drowning in the Mediterranean.  It is astonishing that that even needs to be explained to you.
