You would be wrong. Too much has happened like the purchase of the crap copper and HFC networks Grin

Even Labor will find it hard to reverse the harm Turncoat has done when it wins govt next year.

If it is wise it will scrap the stupid idea of 48mm thick coax cables down the streets in the HFC areas and run fibre along the power poles instead.

What complete idiot of a govt proposes to run wrist-thick cables between power poles in some of the leafier suburbs? A total and complete idiot of a govt I imagine. Of the sort of stupidity that hands the Chinese govt control of the Port of Darwin for 99 years!

How many power poles are they planning on replacing?

There was an artist called Degas who painted women in contorted, non-existant ballet poses. He also investigated the mystery of the gallopping horse as moving pictures were just coming about and they wanted to know if all the legs were off the ground at any one time mid-gallop. Turns out they were but it still looked better to paint one always on the ground.

The point I'm making is he looked at all the pictures of Parisian women/(and/or men I presume) and such-forth that had been done over the years by various art peoples and noticed similiarity with the way the horse moves: as if it were in contortion.

I have to stop watching documentaries,... seriously!

If you do a bit of searching here, cods, you will find the thread where Longy actually posted a link about this stuff.

I am entirely sober about the NBN and have read a lot about it. I have emailed NBN Co asking for exactly how far the wrist–thick coax cables will run. No reply after several weeks

A later article talks about some of the power companies saying they will need money to install stronger power poles.

This whole bunch of crap Malcolm wants to bring in is going to cost well over $100Bn and deliver practically no gains.

Meanwhile, Netflix has over 2 million subscribers and rising quickly for streaming video and the copper is trembling under the load.
