With Assad being an ally of russia how do you propose this happens?
Annnnnnddd go!

This is where things gets even complicated

(1) Assad is semi-supporting ISIS because they hate the rebels and the rebels hate both ISIS and Assad
(2) ISIS bombed the civilian plane
(3) ISIS bombed France
(4) ISIS is getting richer and less controllable by Assad

Assad needs a way out. He needs to negotiate with a neutral entity - Russia?, America?, France?, Australia?, China?

It has to be the UN.

So the UN has to declare war on ISIS and Assad will negotiate with NATO for a transition out of government and his safety

Turnbull is correct....If Iraq has taught us anything it is the fact we need co-operation between moderate Shiite and Sunni Muslims to end the violence....Taking action without the backing of the UN and with no end game planned will ensure the violence never ceases....Maqqa's assertion that the West needs to control a democratically elected Government of any nation would be so counter productive it beggars belief anyone could even propose such a ridiculous idea....The West has proven to be impotent and hypocritical when it comes to defending the rights of people in the ME....We need a solution the does not involve the West controlling anyone!!!

You have such a juvenile grasp of thd issue.  Assad wont care about isis, assad cares about holding onto power.  While ISIS exists and has the attention of the western world assad can continue to rule.  Why would he want to negotiate with anyone? And especially when he has thr support of russia?

We need a solution that ends the flow of money to isis from the saudis.  And a solutiom that gets the worlds third most expensive military  (saudi arabia) to actually do more than watch from the sidelines.

You are a m#r#n

That's what I said.

He's been trying to hold onto power since the last insurgent where he promised he'll change. Killed off the rebels and ISIS came in to fill that void

If you don't understand why he wants to negotiate with anyone then you are even more stupid that you think

The more ISIS bomb people where is the first place the West will drop more bombs? Syria

Then they'll eventually send in more troops and he does not want to be another Gadaffi or Sadam or Osama where they have to live in hiding. He, his wife and children all educated overseas and they ain't living in no cave

More juvenile rubbish.  Assad has russias support.  Therr is no need to negotiate with anyone when he has a military power backing his legitimacy to be leader.  And while isis exists and continues attacks on thr west its becoming more and more evident that the west will ignore asad and concentrate on isis.  So again, why would he need to be negotiating with anyone?

Increasingly the spectre of Malcolm Turnbull, who in regard to International Affairs on Terrorism, has our new national leader, flummoxed and worryingly ill prepared to handle Australia's affairs on the world stage.

Already he has done back flips on our position and even at one stage wanted to 'negotiate' with terrorists.

Turnbull is a genuinely 'nice bloke' but he will go along with the U.N. line on practically everything. This constitutes a great danger towards Australia because the U.N. view Australia and the perfect place to dump any amount of refugees.

This Country will be unrecogniseable if Turnbull blindly lets the U.N., call the tune.

History has shown what a newted bloody useless body the U.N. is, they couldn't run  a corner store let alone the World.

A little hysterical, you think?

The russians just bombed 500 oil tanker trucks and the US another 150 more. Their oil earnings will be close to nil now.
