Turnbull: ISIS fundamentally weak
Nov 24th, 2015 at 3:44pm

Turnbull is in fantasy land if he honestly believes that ISIS is "fundamentally weak". The death toll from the attack in Paris and other recent atrocities such as the downing of a Russian aircraft are proof of this. I feared that Turnbull would be weak on national security and it would seem that my fears were well-founded. Clearly, it is abundantly apparent that Abbott was not over-stating the threat that this terrorist group poses during his time as PM.

If the western world didn't import Sunni Muslims ISIS would mean nothing to us. Terrorism is all they have. They are getting the crap blown out of their army and are losing.

Of course they are weak, they can't cause anywhere near the death toll or destructive power its opponents can.

While tragic, the deaths ISIS can cause in the west are severely limited, even if they are shocking. Ultimately ISIS are not a significant threat to the stability and existence of western powers, the reverse is not true.

I am not sure that making statements about terrorism in front of six Australian flags every other day by Abbott makes him a great leader.

To me the stunts makes me doubt his real ability.

I prefer the common sense considered approach.

But I guess its a bit irrelevant as I wont vote for either!

Yes, Armchair, look what they did with box cutters.

All ISIS have are people willing to blow themselves up. It just goes to show, the damage this can cause in a world with social media and a 24 hour news cycle is profound. All you need is a sharp knife, a gun, or a few hundred dollars worth of illegal weapons and you can bring a country to its knees.

It doesn't look like a position of weakness to me - far from it.
