This Sucks

I knew Gerry well.

He used to serve me my lunch, and we'd often have a drink or two after he finished his shift (at 43 Below Bar).

You'd never meet a nicer guy. Seriously.

Still can't believe he's gone.

He was stuck in Bali for two weeks (the ash), and had just got back to Perth to start work again.

Cheers.

I spoke to him on Tuesday (curry day at 43 Below), and he was killed less than 24 hours later.

His girlfriend is a wonderful young girl, and she'll be devastated.

They were both telling me about how their insurance company were coming to the party and paying them for all the extra nights in Bali.

They were extremely happy, and had everything to live for.

They had just started their new life together.

So sad.

I'll have an extra glass of wine for Gerry tonight.

Had a few drinks to celebrate Gerry's incredibly short life.

His girlfriend is devastated, understandably.

No hangover, which is good.

Still can't stop thinking about the poor bugger - so young, such a nice guy, and such a horrible way to die.

Live every day as if it's your last.
