Why detract from the point of the thread to have another slinging match about what has been? We are talking about what is happening now.
Imagine one of the people who facilitated people smuggling (with the result being detention), now moralising about it. It's sickening. SHY should hang her head in shame for all of the people who drowned because of the part she played in overturning John Howard's measures.

You mean those who supported the illegal invasion of Iraq that created this mess in the first place....Never going to happen their not good at admitting fault!!!

Huh Huh Huh

I wouldn't bother. He only reads what he wants to. He knows that not all refugees are because of American wars. Most just want to live the good life.

Apparently some do, if they're in a country that celebrates Christmas, why not?  When in Rome........

Although, it's probably more about us and giving, isn't that what we do at Christmas?

Kids love toys at any time of the year and the adults love to get a little gift too, soap, toothpaste, hygiene items etc.

Yes Cods, all kids play with toys, even Eskimos and Red Indians.

I'm sending hair clips, colouring in books, sticker books, coloured pencils, rubbers, pencil cases and tea towels for the adults.

It has to be fairly light weight considering postage to Adelaide.

The idea is a good one and I may buy a few toys myself. I will also email SHY to let her know that my donation is not to be used as a political weapon ie my gift does not imply I support her position. I also supply gifts to prisoners. That doesn't mean I support the actions that got them there.

I understand what you are saying....Conflict produces refugees....How does that detract from the fact that the illegal invasion of Iraq caused the current situation in Iraq and Syria....You are not good at admitting fault when it is warranted are you???
