Not one bit, but I doubt that matters. Beazley, as Defence Minister, would have had a connection with the US, and he is a top bloke. I think The Arab is as well, and he'll be fine in that role. Fact is, these are purely political appointments to a well known sinecure by way of pay off.

In all Australia's appointments of this type Beasley was the second political one and Joe is the third, this is very much a new trend.

the libs have done NOTHING right since coming into government. I can't name a single policy of the top of my head where they did 'the right thing'.
