Two years is nothing in the Public's mind. It is my opinion that the Queensland Public are foaming mouthed furious with the f.....g ineptitude of the Queensland Judiciary over the Baden Clay affair.

This is obvious to Blind Freddie with the enormous support that Groups interested in seeing Justice done have received

The public have long memories Aussie and you can put your house on the fact that the Queensland Opposition will stick it right in the Government's eye when the next election campaign gets under way.

Women's victims groups in Queensland, will be queuing up to tar and feather the Government, even though it is the Judiciary who have f......d up this Appeal by downgrading the charges.

Yes Aussie I know your position on it but there are a whole lot of people out there that have seen Baden Clay tried and found guilty of Murder by a Jury of his Peers and those same people think the Appeal was a load of crap, including me.

But...the Public will blame the Government, mark my words.

Why, exactly, do you think the appeal was a load of crap?

Is it because it goes against what you personally believe (based purely on what you've seen in the media) or, is there something else that brings you to that conclusion?

I'm not coming into the hysteria.  It plays no part in this process, and believe it or not, the issue is not as hot as the Courier Mail would have you believe.  In fact, the 'Allison' mob had to link their protest to one about domestic violence in general to attract hijack an audience.

The Court of Appeal decision (linked by Alinta above) is not long.  Read it, and then tell me where that Court's conclusions are incorrect or not open.

They don't come to the same conclusions as Red.

i.e. the opinions he's formed after watching ACA, 60 Minutes, and the Channel 9 "News".

I wonder if cods et al will accept the decision if the High Court (should there be an appeal ~ as opposed to yet another schmedia report there might be one) also concludes that a manslaughter conviction was the only one open, on the evidence?

the answer is NO......because it should go back to court..IMO.

MURDER SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOR A JURY TRIAL>>> NOT THE FACELESS>

I am surprised in this case they didnt blame Alison...for nagging maybe..

One of the possible reasons for the existence of 'her' fingernail scratches (if indeed that is what they were) on his face was that she may have come up behind him, clawed his face and in some instant reaction (not involving an intent to kill) of his, she died (remember also.....there is no evidence as to the cause of her death....so all reasonable bets are on.)  I never did see any evidence of any tissue found under her nails or an explanation for the lack thereof.

well one thing I DO KNOW>>  SHE DIDNT WALK TO THE BRIDGE AND JUMP OFF.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Have you?  All of it?  If so, can you point out where they erred?  And what is this 'faceless' rubbish?  They were/are Supreme Court Judges Homes, Fraser and Gotterson.  I'll see if I can get some photos so you can stop with the 'faceless' garbage.

This is Holmes:

This is Fraser (is the bloke on the right:)

Gotterson:

But, but ... 60 Minutes and ACA called them "faceless men".

It appears that Red, cods, and Fireball have all run for the hills.

Thanks, Aussie, for ruining yet another thread by providing clearly thought out, logical arguments based on facts and readily available evidence that proves your point beyond all doubt, and completely shoots down the "arguments" of those who rely solely on ACA, 60 Minutes, and talk-back radio gossip.

You bastard.

I thought I read something the other day about the prosecution not persuing some particular point hard enough in the trial. Cant recall what it was at the moment.

Therefore I would prefer a retrial to allow this, unless of course the prosecution believes they have a strong case for the appeal.

Will watch with interest.

No need to thank me.  It's what I learned at Graffiti School, the graduates of which Lord Herbert finds offensive because they are always ruining his Threads with cold hard facts as well.
