and here I was thinking that Australia had a rule of law rather than a rule of vigilantism, this is scary stuff.

We have a rule of ACA.

If the accused looks bad on TV, and there is foreboding music playing in the background, then they're guilty.

Case closed!

I read the book before I knew anything about the trial Aussie.......at the time Allison disappeared, in Melbourne we actually didn't hear much at all about it. Saw the book on the store shelves.....thought....this might be interesting  ...and bought it.

For me, it was definitely an insightful read into the family dynamics prior to turning my mind to the trial evidence and outcome, subsequent appeal, etc......

I recommend it!!!!

Did you mean to address that to me or cods?  (I've not mentioned the book, and I doubt I'll read it, preferring documents which are relevant like those in the links you have posted.)

How bizarre - I can't see anything after 10.31 am in this thread - I can see the posts listed on the summary page but 10.31 is the latest I can see, page 29.

Edit: and all of a sudden it works - tried 3 different browsers

To you.......only because as you'd not mentioned the book, I assumed you had not read it and perhaps would be interested in doing so.

It's a common problem with this forum.

When it happens, hit 'Reply' and you'll be able to see the latest threads.

I blame Islam, (or Baden Clay).

I certainly don't find anything in it that (to me) would negate the possibility....however, I'm not schooled in the areas of psychopathy and sociopathy and at what point certain character traits/ actions are clinically diagnosed as such.

Alinta, when you get into the world of 'Mental Health' it is dirty and dangerous territory.

When I was doing General Duties Policing at the Campbelltown District, if we had to do a 'Schedule 2' on an individual which was scheduling someone under the Mental Health Act. We used to have to take them to a Psychiatrist at Liverpool who for obvious reasons will remain unnamed.

Problem was he was nuttier than most of the individuals we took them to have them scheduled.

Often we would arrive back at our Patrol and the 'client' would have beaten us home, albeit with a bottle of pills tucked safely under their arms.

It was Cloud Cuckoo Land and I think it most probably still is.

there was a psychiatrist in Wollongong many years ago..the same...W'gong in those days had an air of a country town so every knew someone who knew someone..... this was before they had a whole floor ...

anyway my neighbours mum had problems.. I swear she was the first with Anorexia a living skeleton...they put her in Gladesville a few times...and I was taken up there to see her.. we got on really well...she was the funniest women really but the family.. well nuff said...

anyway whilst in there I might add she ate everything in front of her.. because if she didnt they would steal it...anyway she kept going to see this bloke...I think they told jokes to each other....then bugger me he ended up in Gladesville.....the story was he was getting high on something.. in those days we didnt talk about drugs...and it caused him to flip out....and he tried to jump out of his office window...........he would be long gone now of course.. but it was BIG news in those days... now I think we expect it....
