"His Defence Team conceded DURING THE TRIAL that a finding of guilt of manslaughter was open on the evidence."

How many times does this have to be said?

I have nothing but contempt for this grub, however, trials and appeals are decided by law, not emotion.

oh very true... so why have a jury in the first place when it can be overruled by the court anyway???

no one his disputing his trial...his bloody guilt or otherwise..

its the fact the verdict can be overturned just like that.. snap..

no!!!.. no new trial....

we the court have decided he should have been found GUILTY of MANSLAUGHTER..

how does anyone know he didnt have a real anger management moment when she said she was going to go to the conference..whether he liked it or not...

and hes thought.. NO YOU BLOODY WONT BE>.POW..

no he is being given the benefit of the doubt. not by 12 good men.. but by a faceless court......and of course his barrister.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

that is what I OBJECT too...and that is what the petition is about..

I am pretty sure it can be appealed, I think I read somewhere the prosecution may be awaiting the new sentence to see how long he gets. (Manslaughter can get a life sentence I think thay said, so if he got say 15+ years they may leave it)

doesnt make a lot of sense really except another fat cat just gets fatter....

I read where the sentence can be the same.. so what the????? heck is the point...

to overrule a jury like that doesnt work for me...

maybe the courts dont have enough to do up there.

Oh, I don't know... I think I'd like to see the full evidence.... from what I've read here it is 'circumstantial' with no real links - which is more than a little bit shaky.

He may well be guilty - but proof positive?  In this country you can never be sure, and
'twelve good people and true' have sent countless innocents to the gallows.....

Irregardless of what happens to Baden Clay, he will walk through life with the mark of 'Cain' as clearly branded on his forehead as if it had been put there with a red hot branding iron.

It says, "I MURDERED MY WIFE"

You 'think' incorrectly.  They have 28 days to appeal, and time is running.

Imagine being any woman who may find herself interested in him...  but then - in this day and age, how do we know that the nice lady we just met at the club is not a recently released hubby killer?  We don't....

not wrong! goes with any crime doesnt it?.....

but the more outraged people become...

the more chance you have of changing things...

we have become a nanny state.. where we seem to care more about the villains than we do about the victims or future victims...

we put rapists back on the streets   even give them BAIl..

life is 15 years..if that.. Roll Eyes

crims have a huge lobby group....

pity about their victims... Angry

This is an excerpt from an article in today's 'Sunday Mail' (Courier Mail) ~ no link, there is a paywall ~ and it demonstrates the absolute hypocrisy and emotional garbage being peddled by the schmedia which misleads punters like cods.  This paragraph is but a very small one in a very long article which was aimed to tug heart strings with the haunting sound of mourning violins:

Quote:
The court's decision is no doubt justified by some legal technicality, but it's a huge slap in the face for Allison's family and all victims of domestic violence.

Huh?     So the author concedes with no doubt the decision is justified
in Law
.......and then, tunes in the pathetic bloody violins!  It is only the Law which must be satisfied in this environment, not the artificial wailing laments of journalists seeking commercial gain.

Pharking irresponsible garbage!

The Law is an ass...no sorry sometimes the law is an ARSE, like in this case.

Never ever forget that laws are made up by humans with pens in their hands and the law can be changed as swiftly as the stroke of a pen.

If you are looking for Justice go hire the Hells Angels, you will most probably get a more satisfactory result.
