I think this has been asked before, without resolution.

I do TRY to cut down/eliminate the MANY previous posts when replying and focus on the latest one but it becomes a PITA.

Perhaps Management can change/limit the number of "quoted" posts (when replying) somehow?

Making/adding another button on the top right of a post called a Selective Quote, or a Quick Quote would fix most of this.

How it works:

You select the text that you wish to quote, & respond to, from another's post.

You press this button, & instead of a massive quote six posts deep, all you simply have is the text you wish to respond to being quoted for you then to respond to.

If you accidentally neglect selecting text, when this new button is pressed you get a simple error message reminding you that you have to select some text to quote before you can proceed.

IThis can be done manually, through cuts & pastes, but it's a royal pain to delete everything else (all the other text) in specific order to simply only quote the text you wish to respond to.

Now, that was easier...  I did this manually......Imagine if it took 10 posts to get to that specific question you asked that I wanted to respond to.....all that waste of space & unnecessary reading, not to mention how it might negatively impact on the posting character limits.

That is a good idea.

Another good idea would be if different selected quotes could be added to the reply multiple times, to make it easier to reply to different parts of the same post or different posts. Some people just highlight their replies in different colours and this rapidly gets out of hand.

Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.

I haven't the vaguest notion of what they're talking about.

Neferti knows she only has to ask me, if she's having some difficulty working her computer.  Cool
