It's a dairy farming district getting close to the Victorian border. They make Bega cheese there which is popular in Australia. About 40km from the coast. It's a nice place but a little boring.

I don't think it ever snows. You could probably grow bananas there for instance because it's a coastal region. It borders the Tasman Sea and straight across is NZ.
