Our justice system has 'morphed' into socially irresponsible 'justice' system, imo.

To many ['ordinary' people] it appears to be a justice system which is dysfunctional [...a justice system where penalties against convicted criminal perpetrators, rarely reflect the seriousness of the crime(s) which have been committed].

And a parole system which then chooses to release [habitual] serious criminals back into the community.

I'm sick of this, ......you can do stupid and selfish behaviour, and dangerous [to others] behaviour, and malicious behaviour, and criminally negligent behaviour, ....and 'there are no consequences', society.

Even when other people [sometimes] are seriously harmed, the consequences for the perpetrator rarely reflects the seriousness of that loss or injury, to others, imo.

Again, i'm sick of this, 'there are no consequences', society.

you do wonder dont you.. even the locals thought he was odd..so you wonder what he had to do to get early release??>..or do they just open to doors one day.. and say help yourself inmates.... Roll Eyes

they may as well..I would have hoped at least he would have had conditions and one of them being not to leave Ireland..

again its all too hard isnt it???>.

I am beginning to think it isnt the duty of the Law to protect the innocent....just make the select few filthy rich and the bleedinghearts feel better. Angry

Whilst not defending this guy, there is a problem. From what I read he wasn't sentenced to 238 years of jail. All the counts he was sentenced to added up to 238 years, but they were to be served concurrently. Thats why he was released after nine years, the maximum time he could actually serve was 12.

Before you halfwits start going off, I'm not defending it, but the reports all seem to be incorrect in the goal of generating outrage.

well I was more thinking closer to home.. we seem to be far more indulgent..and the law worries more about their health and wellbeing than they do their victims...some people are traumatised for life...does anyone care about them??? Angry

no I dont think.. these poor souls now before the Royal COmm into child abuse...are being listened too for the first time in their lives....and not being judged....

can you imagine what that must feel like???????..
