Or is it that you find it more satisfying to put down the stupid, and invent ways to punish them, rather than a genuine interest in improving the lot of humanity, by uplifting the less fortunate?

It is counterproductive though.
You are just encouraging their stupidity. You are enabling them.

And stupidity is often subjective rather than objective. If one starts to feel hatred simply on a subjective matter, then one's life will be filled full of sadness and later on guilt.
