Many people from Sydney and Melbourne have moved to Bendigo . Obviously these people are well acquainted with the impact large mosques have on suburbs. Take the Lidcombe Mosque in Sydney. Every aussie around the mosque has moved away. Every friday and around religious events the streets are packed. People have a hard time getting out of their driveways. Muslims take over the surrounding suburbs  and residents start feeling pressured and isolated so they move. A mosque is a hub and the centre of Islamic communities. It's different to a church in that respect. I'd say the people of Bendigo understand this and don't want it for their town.

What utter crap.

No it's not ... I know quite a few ex Cockies who have moved from Sydney to QLD to escape that very thing.

So they get the okay to build the mosque ... but it should have the stipulation of "no" minaret from which the sounds of a yeowling tomcat with a hot soldering iron on his dusters issue forth twice a day calling the faithful to prayer.

And no taking up surrounding streets as prayer mats if the congregation can't all fit in the mosque.

That would be a very small consolation.

That almost sounds like you're advocating acts of terrorism.

You're not advocating acts of terrorism, are you?

In live between 2 large Mosques. One has a pub across the road. The Muslims  built this monstrosity with no parking so they park in the street. They were using the pubs parking so the pub put a security guard on duty (especially on Friday). They put this mosque on a main road and is a combined school /Mosque. The kids flood out and the worshippers flood in and out  over the main road blocking traffic for kms. They appointed a man to direct pedestrians otherwise the whole road would stop which is a main artery. The housing around the mosque is dominated by Muslims. Mosques are a pain in the ass.

Perhaps they could compensate you with some goat meat.

Invite them to the pub for a BBQ - "bring your own goat".

If they're advocating acts of terrorism, they'll have to be reported to the authorities.

Terrorism is bad, isn't it?
