The Liberals' Treasurer Glenn Morrison was trying his hardest to do the 'pea and thimble' trick with the Public. But guess what Glen, the Public are unformed these days.

You asked where the money can come from to try and help out the disastrous budget.

Well how about the unfunded billions you are spending on the Syrians. And I do mean billions!

The losers in this will be the people at the bottom of the totem poles those on limited incomes.

A Doctor representing the Medical Association said that many forms of cancer will not be detected now because of people's inability to make co payments.

If the Government want more money then they should pull their finger out about the Tax avoidance of Google, Apple, Microsoft and all the other 'big pals' of Malcolm Turnbull.

PS I know that a Senate enquiry has recommended reforms. How long do you think if will be before that happens.

Good to see the Liberals have sacked Scott Morrison and put Glenn in charge....I have never heard of him but he could not be any worse than Scott!!!

Stupid people never see the big picture.

Any industry funded by gov always has most expensive price and worst productivity.

$100 for a simple blood test, it only costs $10. Great deal for tax money.

that explains why medical care in the US is much much more expensive than here ...

I do agree with your first comment though Cheesy Cheesy

If comparing to the worst healthcare system in the developed world makes you happy during Christmas, then keep doing it.

My first comment seems very fit for you  Grin

I'm comparing it to a almost totally private system ... feel free to show another one if you like, I'm going to bet no matter which you choose to show it'll still be more expensive

I think you understand price is driven by demand and supply in market.

1. Is here a free market for medical services in Austrlia or US? No. The market is fragmented into smaller specialized pieces by doctors' associations. They are couches, players and referees at same time in one market. This is the fundamental cause of high price and monopoly like market.

2. In this already doctors union controlled market, supply is always short. It doesn't matter how much government spend on it. Demand can not drive supply to increase efficiently.

3. Government over paid bills only make those limited number of doctors lazier. You can not increase number of doctors, then you may expect they can work harder. But no way. They are already over paid too much, they don't care income anymore, they don't have good will to see 1 more patient to earn a little bit more. They don't care.
