Most people aren't performing monkeys or magpies who like to collect pretty shiny things. If they were they would be buying confectionery in bright colourful packs or coloured tic tacs as opposed to cigarettes.
Seriously, if you ever bought cigarettes because you liked the packaging your IQ leaves a lot to be desired.
People are quitting because of the cost, not because they now come in a plain dark grey pack.

Yeah, would stop me taking up smoking!
Enough said.
Wow, the misunderstanding just goes on and on doesn’t it? Can’t you get it? It really isn’t that hard to understand.
If
I was a kid and a friend came along with a packet of cigarettes in a nice packet with all the misapplied miracle of commercial design so that it looked cool etc
I might smoke a cigarette. With a packet colored like camelsh1t
I might decide it looked UNcool, the big graphic picture of the results of smoking would likely turn
me off even more.
If
YOU were a kid??? Is that what you are basing your proclamation on? What you may or may not do if you were a kid? That's hilarious. Really! Like I said. Enough said.
Most kids are a bit smarter than that and don't take up smoking because of pretty packaging. You really don't understand that do you?
Instead of proclaiming what a
resounding success plain packaging has been how about supplying stats. REAL stats.
How many people have given up smoking because of the packaging? I have not heard of one so far. Not one.
Cigarette prices go up twice a year in February and August. Price hikes would be a far more indicative reason for giving up than packaging.
It is pointless to assume people have not even taken up the habit because of plain packaging as it could never be proven.
