The authorities leave them alone to do as much 'weed' as they like. It's sort of their own independent Principality like Haight-Ashbury used to be.

Sharks Hippies who live near sharks is not my thing. If I ever go to Australia I'm staying far, far away from water as one can be.

You could always go to WA where the woods outside of Perth are full of Magic Mushrooms that attract people like Amsterdam does with its marijuana cafes.

As far as Australian capital cities go, Adelaide is the where you want to be if weed is your thing.
