The ABC are the public servant option for failed journalists.
Private sector media, murdoch , for instance are movers , shakers and hold the real power.
Those journos who arent good enough to be snapped up to play at the elite level end up in the ABC..
That's strange. When I was at journalism school EVERYONE wanted to work for the ABC. It was considered a primo appointment, and quite unachievable. The selection process is intense.
Most went on to News Ltd and Fairfax. They weren't easy to get into either.
You know K, its illegal to clone a horse in australia. someone cloned a quarterhorse stallion in the states and it was sent back when it arrived here because we appreciate "biodiversity"
where is the "biodiversity" in the leftard journalistic ranks.
the ABC are definitely running a cloning operation.
it doesnt matter if you accidently turn on news radio or radio national in the car or the TV remote gets stuck on 2 when you are trying to get to Ice Road Truckers.
they all sing from exactly the same hymn sheet.
name 1 permanent ABC journo who talks like Jones or Bolt.
They don't. That's the point. Jones and Bolt are party propagandists.
Almost all the big Australian talent starts at the ABC. Journalists, comedians, actors. The ABC is the talent pool for the other networks, breakfast radio and current affairs TV, and it's always been this way.
Without the training and exposure provided by the ABC, we wouldn't have the
(highly exported) skills in Australia that we do.
Ray Martin, Russell Crowe, Baz Lurman, and even Alan Jones. All have made this point.
Exactly K, the journos who are focused on the rightard ideas of growth and personal development, leave and continue their aspirations in the private sector.
the chodes who see their comrades in the private sector become bitter and envious.
As nietshze said....
acknowledge your envy and use it as a driving force to try to move forward.
There is no reason the long term ABC journo's cannot aspire to the wonderful world of free enterprise.
They can overcome their success barriers, as othes have.
If Ray can do it, i can do it.
This would be a good affirmation for leigh Sales to put on her bathroom mirror.
She always looks like she's just sucked on a lemon
