Yeah, Greg, and it's only been a couple of weeks since Phil 'Philthy Animal' Taylor, also of Motorhead, booked off.
I didn't hear that

Liver failure, at 61 ... ouch!
Phil could suck bourbon like oxygen, Lemmy reckoned, while happily inhaling
his own bourbon, just before their concert in my town in '84, where I first met
Lemmy - he and the drummer were playing the pokies, so my brothers and I
as fans, wandered up for a chat.
We ended up polishing a couple of bottles of bourbon off together - before the
gig. And they were still brilliant, even pyssed, as they (and most of the audience)
certainly were!
Excellent!

I remember that '84 tour.
They played here in Perth, at a pub called the Nookenburra, and it was the loudest gig I've ever been to.
I've been to (and played at) literally hundreds of pub gigs, and concerts, but nothing ever came close to being as loud as Motorhead (except maybe a Van Halen concert around the same time).
Man!, seeing Lemmy up front on stage was always a blast.
Bands today don't even come close to having what they had.
Back in my day ...
