Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!

NOT BRONSKI BEAT  Cry Cry

They're The Mechanic's favourite.

Them, and the Village People.

That's his favourite clip - he likes the thought of being surrounded by seamen.

You know.....I've noticed that you're very good at being bad.

I'm just glad I never went to uni with you. I would have flunked every subject lol.

If you were my friend, I would have helped you pass.

I never got anything less than a 'D' at uni, and I always helped out my fellow students (especially the girls with cute little asses).

Yeah right lol!

You know....there was a tutor at uni (who was completing his PhD at the time)....and ummm you remind me of him. During 1 tutorial he wore a T shirt with the words :

You've been a naughty girl!
Go to MY room!

That sounds like me alright.

I haven't managed to complete my PhD, though    Sad

Ahhhh.....now this is where a good wife comes in handy.

How?

She'll order you into your home office to study lol!

(Yep, I'm a typical European mummy.... forever pushing/supporting everyone around me into tertiary education lol)  Tongue

I can't choose a topic - that's my problem!

What discipline?

Social Sciences.

Sociology, or Politics.

Ooooh nice. Very nice indeed!

If I were you, I'd read a thesis or 2 at honours level covering those disciplines.

Then I'd read some at PhD level.

This ^^^^^ reading will give you more of an idea as to which area you will be more confident/competent in starting (& more importantly completing) your own original work.

Greg, your real problem seems to be this :

You're a perfectionist who wants to create a masterpiece. You can't start because you're too scared that you're not going to achieve that.

After you've read a few theses at various levels, you'll realize that the quality of a PhD isn't as high as it used to be lol. Hopefully that realization will encourage you to draft a plan to structure your thoughts/ideas.

Start the ball rolling by approaching your assigned supervisor at Uni. Make sure he/she is someone who is easy to talk to....otherwise forget it.

A thesis is just a big essay <---- your self talk.

My advice? Please don't waste time. Life is short. Just do it Smiley

Show us then.

I've never bagged out a high-school drop-out, or a factory worker.

If you can find a post where I have, I will apologise and retract the comment.

Living in a crappy western suburb of Sydney, working in a warehouse for $19 an hour, and dealing with illegal tree loppers and teenagers on trail bikes ripping up your verge - you call that life?

Remember now snob. And you call yourself a union man??? Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I've never bagged out a high-school drop-out, or a factory worker.

Do you have anything that proves otherwise?

So people earning $19 an hour, living in a working class area have a crap life hey??

Some do, yes.

And I have sympathy for them.

Thankfully, I spend my days helping them.

It must be hard helping people you have no respect for. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
