I will go further and say if you dont discriminate based on race you are a victim waiting to happen and quite stupid to boot.

There are two kinds of people - those who discriminate on race (or culture, if you find that more palatable) and those who pretend they don't.

Yes. I can guarantee if gweggary saw a group of drunken abos heading his way on the street he would break the olympic track record running in the opposite direction.

One of the issues with islanders is they can't get the dole. Howard stopped it. They are flooding into the country because NZ and Australia have visa arrangements but get here and end up on the poverty line. That's one of the reasons they do so many crimes. These visa arrangements need to be amended.

So, it's not because they have brown skin and tattoos?

No. It's because for years and years NZers were flooding into the country and hopping on to the dole. It was costing the economy a fortune. That's why Howard changed it. He changed citizenship rules also.

Well, we're finally getting somewhere.

My mother was at the local fruit shop once. She was going through the fruit when suddenly this islander couple were going ballistic at my mother saying YOU ARE RACIST blah blah blah. Apparently their little boy had said "excuse me" to my mother so he could get past but my mother didn't react. My mother has poor hearing. My mother yelled back at the out of control man " YOU GET AWAY". HE DID!!! Grin Grin Grin Anyway my mother left the shop and entered the carpark and they drove past and yelled out " YOU OLD WHITE S%UT". My mother was in a bad way when she got home.

Yep....racism cuts both ways.

You'd have to be totally naive to think otherwise.

It certainly does Lisa.

Something we all agree on.

Group hug?

YES PLEASE!

One of these two cowards said before the attack "Do you want to see something funny?"

"Something funny" will be what will almost certainly happn to them in prison.

And in (hopefully) many years time they'll be squealing because their visa is cancelled and they get deported.

Whatever race they are - criminal scum deserve nothing less

Yes.  I'm one who does it fairly.  What about you?

The do-gooding has started with these murderers ... errr no it's not murder, just bodily harm, a tragedy says the lawyer, and ABC, a tragedy they say. Crims well on their way to reduced sentences. Just a tragic event the Judge will hear, they didn't mean to kill him

Fact is.....it is not murder.  The offence they are now charged with is striking causing death.

That decision is made by the police.

"unlawful striking causing death"

I don't see anyone making excuses for the two accused.

The men charged with killing Brisbane teenager Cole Miller in an allegedly random attack are upset and distressed, lawyers say.

Source: AAP
5 Jan 2016 - 1:20 PM  UPDATED 2 HOURS AGO

The men charged over the death of Brisbane teenager Cole Miller are said to be devastated by what's occurred.

Armstrong Renata and Daniel Jermaine Lee Maxwell faced court charged with unlawful striking causing death on Tuesday, a day after the 18-year-old's life support was switched off.

Maxwell's lawyer Michael Bosscher said his 21-year-old client was "doing it tough".

"He's devastated by what's occurred," Mr Bosscher told reporters outside court.

"He feels nothing but the greatest sympathy for the family of the victim.

"He's only a young man himself. It was his birthday on the evening in question.

"He has no friends or family really here in Australia - they're all in New Zealand."

Renata's lawyer Neil Lawler said his client, also 21, had never been in custody before and was stressed and anxious.

"I think it's safe to say it's a tragedy for all concerned," Mr Lawler said.

Police say Renata and Maxwell were among a group of four who approached Mr Miller and a friend in Fortitude Valley's Chinatown Mall in the early hours on Sunday.

Maxwell allegedly challenged the pair to a fight and threw the first punches before it's claimed Renata delivered a fatal blow from behind.

Mr Miller, an elite water polo player, died in hospital from massive head trauma on Monday.

He had been on track to follow in his Olympian brother Billy's footsteps, playing for the Brisbane Barracudas in the national league and the Queensland under-20s team.

Maxwell and Renata are facing hefty jail terms if convicted under Queensland's tough new one-punch laws, which carry a maximum life sentence.

Both were remanded in custody on Tuesday, with Maxwell's case adjourned to January 19 and Renata's to February 8.
