The do-gooding has started with these murderers ... errr no it's not murder, just bodily harm

That decision is made by the police.

"unlawful striking causing death"

I don't see anyone making excuses for the two accused.

But they will paint them as "misguided" and "victims" of society

They will say "we've never punched anyone like this before"

We'll have to wait and see.

Fact is.....it is not murder.  The offence they are now charged with is striking causing death.

"striking causing death" ... What do you think they'll get, 10-15 years ?, as the media keep saying. This will be an 8 year incarceration with a 5 year non parole period then deportation, we should all sincerely hope

It carries a life imprisonment with at least 80 per cent to be served.

Queensland LAW is not the same as the rest of Australia.  They'll probably get a slap on the wrist and told never to punch another guy in the head and 100 hours of picking up rubbish.

Queensland Law is Absolutely Pathetic. No wonder arsie can't communicate the LAW for the rest of AUSTRALIA.

Dunno....I'd have to go look.  This offence was created well after I retired, but I have a recollection there is a minimum of 15 years and there is something about 80%.

They could be doing life.....

http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/qld/consol_act/cc189994/s314a.html

314A Unlawful striking causing death

(1) A person who unlawfully strikes another person to the head or neck and causes the death of the other person is guilty of a crime.

Maximum penalty—life imprisonment.

(5) If a court sentences a person to a term of imprisonment for an offence mentioned in subsection (1), the court must make an order that the person must not be released from imprisonment until the person has served the lesser of—

    (a) 80% of the person's term of imprisonment for the offence; or

    (b) 15 years.

So it looks like fifteen years is on the cards.... for the hitter at least.  No idea what this means for any acting in concert.

Yes they'll receive the "Ethnic Discount" for sure. Remember the muslim guy south of Sydney who stabbed his victim 28 times?, killed him, and got only 3 years. The judge said "the public won't understand why I'm giving this sentence".

Some sort of honor killing apparently

One of these two cowards said before the attack "Do you want to see something funny?"

"Something funny" will be what will almost certainly happn to them in prison.

And in (hopefully) many years time they'll be squealing because their visa is cancelled and they get deported.

Whatever race they are - criminal scum deserve nothing less

Good. Deport the bastard I say!
