I like men to have a sense of humour, to understand what people are about, and to be able to have conversations about stuff in life, small stuff, and big stuff. In other words, communication is important.

As for being strong and protective, women can be that also to others, at times of need.
No one, no matter whether a male or female, can be all that strong and protective all the time.
We have our ups and downs, and need that confidential partner or friend that can be supportive and give us a lift when down in the dumps.
Strength comes in giving that spiritual and mental pep talk too. Not just in physical strength.

by the way...

I received a txt from the mrs today..

she reminded me that it was 32 years to the day of when we had our first date...

now see.. it still lights her fire Wink Wink

Nah, she wanted you to buy her something. hint... hint...

So, all the kids are adults and my wife, after 32 years, has not run off and left me to fool with alpha stallions, what does that say?

You are both nice men with lovely wives.

Grin Thanks sprint.

on a logical level that may be true.
but women dont choose sexual partners based on logic.
no man has ever presented an arguement to a woman as to why she should sleep with him and then, through a skillful debate, has seen her say

"you know what, youve convinced me, which way is the bedroom"

women choose partners based on emotions, not logic.

that stuff youre talking, thats all logical talk.

its how the group thinks (in group think) but it bears no relationship to what actually goes on

I have to disagree with you slightly here.

When a single-and-availabe woman meets a man at a party or in the workplace, she starts 'sussing' him out right from the beginning. Kinesics is the art and science of reading body-language, and women are fairly expert at this from a very early age.

She's reading the guy like a book while pretendng to be listening to what he's saying.

All women have a mental check-list where men are concerned.

1. "Check the size and firmness of his buttocks".

2. "Check the size and firmness of his erect
CENSORED!

3. "Check the size and firmness of his wallet"

These are all very practical criteria for committing to a relationship.

Herb, women go through 2 phases generally.

the dating for fun phase and then the serious relationship phase (maybe for the purpose of popping out babies).

during the dating for fun phase, a guy might try the logical stuff on a girl.

Check out my mercedes, i went to uni, i have nice aftershave, i have a good haircut, i have nice manners,i have good biceps, let me buy you a drink.....this is all beta male activity. it is coming from a place of putting the woman on a pedestal and thinking she needed to logically "decide ' on you.
it wont work.

A guy who has not much money, doesnt have the nice haircut and manners, but who has the following features will be killing it compared to the supplicating beta

1  confidence and swagger
2 a bit edgey, almost a bit dangerous
3  some sort of ststus (celebrity)
4 able to 'infuse" her with emotions.

women like emotions. they dont even mind a bit of negative emotions.

a pretty girl probably has betas complimenting her all day. if a guy "disses ' her a bit. says "hay girl, i dont think that dress suits you and the hair looks a bit greasy"  suddenly  "she notices him" and she "wants" validation from him.

he is now that "confident " male who "doesnt really care what she thinks of him" and he is not, yet another needy little leech who "wanted something off her"

its paradoxical i know but its true .

the guy who tries hard will fail.
the hungry guy "never gets fed"

Now , when this pretty girl his thrity and her looks go a bit and her ovaries want to pop out the babies, she will look for a "provider " male.

So the beta gets the girl when she is ready for him and not before.
Marriage , i hate to say it, can be the consolation prize for the beta male.  and if your partner is always "putz shaming you " and treating you like you are a dumbie, you can bet she knows she married the beta and she really wants that alpha back that she used to party with at 18  Wink Wink.

That's the key word - VALIDATION

Whether you are a confident woman or not - everyone wants validation

If you are validated with "you're so pretty" everyday then you get sick of it. You want something else. You are going to look for something else

Enters Mr Edgy with a greasy mop of hair and several fake tattoos on his muscly arms and you have a formula for a great short term hook up but long term disaster

He's not looking for something long term and she's looking for something different that could be long term.

Incidentally, Marla - tell us truthfully now - at age 17, and with all the benefits of a Western news service, could you have been persuaded to go join ISIS .. if you were from a Muslim family?

I already told you. Muslims have no fashion sense.
