It astounds me how many people believe that nonsense.

I've mentioned this a few times before, however, I've met people who swear that when they went to vote they had "Beazley" and "Howard" on their ballot papers, or "Rudd" and "Abbott" etc.

Some people should never be allowed near a polling booth.

Nope.

There's no mention of the office of Prime Minister in the Constitution.

Regardless of weather its mentioned in the constitution or not, when people voted at the last election, they were voting for abbott, not treacherous turncoat. They expected abbott to be in their until the next election. Turncoat knows they would not have voted for a weirdo freak like himself, that's why he had to steal the job.

Turnbull didn't steal anything.

He was voted in as leader of the Liberal Party, by the Liberal Party.

We don't elect Prime Ministers.

I just remembered another thing that happened, back when it was Beazley Vs Howard.

I was in Beazley's electorate, and queued up at the school waiting for the booth to open.

The couple in front of me had their 19 year old daughter with them, who was voting for the first time.

She pointed out that while Kim Beazley's name was on the how to vote cards, she didn't see John Howard's name on them (OK, she was only 19 - I can cut her some slack).

However, once she brought this to the attention of her parents they were at first mystified, and then horrified.

They assumed that Howard had been replaced overnight by Don Randall (the local Liberal candidate), and they were disgusted.

They had come to vote for Howard, and were outraged that that opportunity had been taken away from them.

I hope that girl moved out of home real quick - she had no chance with parents like that.

dont blame the parents entirely.  but the donkey vote is quite powerful and truly ignorant.

I'm not concerned about the donkey vote.

I'm concerned that they expected to see both "Beazley" and "Howard" on their ballot papers.

Unbelievable.

look merlin, ya big git!  it is what it is and your juvenile whining is getting old. go vote for Shorten if you want, but if you dont vote for the Libs then you lose the right to comment on liberal leadership.

grow up.

While you are correct I seem to recall the Liberal supporters were all saying the exact opposite when it was Rudd and Gillard ?

Apparently it made them very horrible people - one was even a witch you know.

You seem to have breached that same rule over Labor leadership about 200,000 times over the last 3 years ?

Regardless of what you guys think, MOST people care less about politics and only think about it as they are about to go and VOTE.

I asked a couple of young (in their late 30s) recently what they thought of Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten and their look of complete astonishment was evident, they had no clue who these people were, obviously.

Then I said "who is the Prime Minister?" and one said "John Howard" and the other said "Tony Abbott".  I kid you not .... this is CANBERRA and the young people have no clue who the Federal Government is or what it does. Nor do they care, obviously.  Ask some people in your region the same question and see how many know.  NOT everyone over 15 watches the ABC News at 7 (or is it 7.30?)

Only the political tragics on OzPol care about politics. Most of us are more interested in CURRENT AFFAIRS (murders) and so forth.  Wink

Mr Turnbull is a highly experienced lawyer & merchant banker who is used to speaking in an educated manner. How the fck do you expect him to talk?
He has got a temper and he can swear with the best - would you like him to do that on TV?

he would prefer him to say things like.
