horses that misbehave and end up being shot , invariably end up in this situation due to the behaviours they develop interacting with humans.

And, make no mistake, a 500 kg muscular animal can and will kill you if you dont establish correct training

(50 people in australia in the last 5 years).

How do we prepare a horse to take its place in society so that it can have a happy life (how do we prepare a human to take its place so it will have a happy life).

Horses (like people) seek comfort.
Horses (like people) seek a strong leader.
Horses (like people) will become erratic, mentally unstable and dangerous if they do not find a firm but fair leader.

Horses (like people) respond very badly to being spoilt.
They see the person spoiling them as "weak" and will not trust him.

Before you can "love on " a horse, you must teach respect (like people).

You must never back down to a horses natural instinct to try to "dominate" (same with training people).

You must find the position between being a wimp (the current position of western leaders) and being aggressive (the former position of say hitler or stalin).

To train a horse (and people) you must be "assertive"

You must have direction.
You must do all training in an unemotional way.
you must reward the smallest try
you must correct the smallest bad behaviour and you must do it immediately and absolutely consistently.

amazing what can be achieved with mindfulness and the correct attitude.

No animal is as loyal or wants to work in a partnership with humans as much as a horse
